Ptolemy agrees

quote:
19. Of Exaltations.
The so-called exaltations of the planets have the following explanation. Since the sun, when he is in Aries, is making his transition to the northern and higher semicircle, and in Libra is passing into the southern and lower One, they have fittingly assigned Aries to him as his exaltation, since there the length of the day and the heating power of his nature begin to increase, and Libra as his depression for the opposite reasons.

perhaps you should try bumping with conversation if your desire is engagement and not just being seen by infrequent posters who have already engaged. "bump" after a sea of old messages doesnt really breathe life into a dead conversation... just saying. if all you care about is seeing this thread on the first page by all means carry on.

It is April and springtime now, and it reminds me why the Sun is indeed exalted in Aries.

Heat and Light are the main characteristics of the Sun! It takes the most dynamic heat to push away old man winter, with all the new blooms and buds coming out, so Aries being a cardinal sign symbolizes the most moving forward, vigorous heat, which is different from the more accumulated and stagnant heat of Leo in August, the height of summer where the days are getting shorter. Now in springtime, days are definitely getting longer, so there is more light now.

In the other fire sign Sagg, the Sun is not the most defining characteristic, as it is a waning fire, where the days will be at their shortest right before the winter soltice.

For me another reason why I think that the Sun is happy in Aries is the Sun wants to speak and create! And Aries isn't shy to doing any of those things!

Yes, Cardinal Starts the fire, Fixed Sustains / Maintains the fire & Mutable Returns the fire to Cardinal... that's why i said in other thread that Sagittarius is obsessed with knowledge and higher learning the philosophical and spiritual so it learns how to return the fire to it's original state. 🤠

That's the Cardinal modality.

Very interesting viewpoint! I had not thought about that.
