It's sad that someone's death has prompted nasty arguments amongst Lindalanders who feel moved to insult each other.

It disappoints me that posters on a site that is aimed at helping each other on our spiritual journey through life, and towards death, are conducting themselves with such a lack of dignity.

I wonder how many people sending off furious and opinionated emails about death and all it means have actually experienced it in any meaningful way. I wonder how they could have done if they are being so insensitive now.

Someone has lost their child, someone has lost their father, someone's house has an empty space. Having experienced this kind of devastation I find the hysterical posts and personal attacks being launched particularly .... I can't even find the word, but I need to go elsewhere for a while.

Oh that is sad bluemoon. I will miss you.....I may have missed something, or not have read it. It may better that I do not.

Do you mean the ADHD thread?

We don't know that person personally, but of course out sympathy goes out to the family. I still don't mind a discussion about this topic. It's here to discuss.

But if it's a Knowflake that's being bashed, then that is abhorrent.

The Condoms thread touches on areas where death is concerned - Cancer, HIV...etc.

Is it this thread that has upset you?

I'd like it if when people made threads like this, they'd post a link to it (or even better, post ON the specific thread), just so I can have some idea what they're talking about. Because I'm not aware of all these insults and furious posts against each other over death & dying...

In any case, it's not in the Michael Jackson thread (not with each other anyway), condoms, or ADHD thread (or if one of these IS being referred to, then I respectfully beg to differ).

I suddenly wondered about the Michael Jackson threads - but I payed my respects and left. I didn't stay to read other comments. I know people have varying opinions about him and I'd rather leave him as a topic alone.

Oh no! A typo!

The condom thread is one of my favourites.

I'm not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, it is the general tone of the thread I disliked. It made me feel like I was sitting in a parlour with someone's father lying in his coffin, whilst everyone argued over the top of him, it was quite an unpleasant sensation.

I am referring to the Michael Jackson is Dead thread that at one point disintegrated into personal insults and arguments. I realise emotions may be high but it seemed unnecessary.

I also realise my view is slanted from life experience and my cultural background. I have Celtic over-sensitivity about respect for the dead.

Certainly, I do not want to fuel more unpleasantries and arguments. Maybe I should have said nothing.

I'll be back in a couple of days, it will be a reason to get moving on work that needs doing and get off the 'net.

BM,

I can definitely understand your feelings about that thread; I risked just a glance and knew I didn`t need to read more of this.

And it`s true sometimes everyone needs a bit time off. Maybe that is your time now.
But don`t forget to come back.

We need you and your realistic and balanced view.

Just my observation, the majority simply shared their memories & observations about MJ, most of them sympathizing strongly with him...which is what many people do after someone dies.

Only one person got hostile towards MJ that I recall, and one person expressed annoyance over it, and this is the only personal attack I recall in that thread. Beyond that, there was the CIA thing, but that's hardly an attack on fellow members.

I've seen personal attacks fly on this board before, but that thread is very mild as far as that's concerned.

Not that I discount the feelings and all.

It's the one on Astro 2 I didn't like when I flicked through it this morning.

A bit off, I thought.

I expect it off rags like the Sun, but.

Anyway, my toys are now back in my play pen. Some stuff I want to share on another thread. Positive.

I agree 100% with you blue moon. Disapointing.

Just accept that it's part of Lindaland. A world without contrasts is boring.

I only wish that every Knowflake would realize that no one person is above us or beneath us. That other people act as our mirror to help us learn more about ourselves.

Mid-type I thought... I have been spending too much time on here with Peace Angel, I'm turning this thread Godzalan. Who would have thought it possible?
