Hmm - hard one. Need to think about it but the first one that comes to mind is Die Hard because Alan Rickman was THE MOST awesome bad guy.IP: Logged |

Blade Runner. Or is that more sci-fi than action? I think of it as action.IP: Logged |

The Hong Kong Jackie Chan films are some of the must-see classics, I guess- even without having seen most of them. And I'd just have "Highlander" the original come into mind- very intriguing. Cpn,I can understand that action films are not really what you're into most, but thanks for sharing nevertheless. Wheels Of Cheese Wow! You amaze me! You've been to both Hong Kong and Korea! Good for you! Glad you've seen "Drunken Master". You were right- Jackie Chan is HUGE in Hong Kong, South Korea, and let's not forget also JAPAN and Taiwan. He's BIG in many parts of Asia, and now an international super star who's made it big in Hollywood! Way to go, Jackie! You certainly know that Jackie Chan needs no stunts, don't you- yeah, Jackie did, and still does (I presume) ALL THOSE RISKY ACTION STUFF FOR REAL! He's the real action hero, you know! Other than Die hard, I can only think of Memphis Belle. I've been up for three hours now, but am still not awake...or The Terminator movies... IP: Logged |

Yup, and Japan. I love that part of the world. Would love to go to Taiwan one day. Very very interesting history. Anything about China and Taiwan during the Kuomintang/Communist years fascinates me. Drunken Master is soooo funny. He is the real action hero alright.I love the stuff from Thailand too, Ong Bak and Ong Bak2 are both fabulous. IP: Logged |

Wheels Of Cheese I'm impressed. You've been to Japan also? And you'd like to visit Taiwan, while being quite well-informed on the history between China and Taiwan...oh sis, that's really something! I normally don't like action, but there are a few I really do like...the Blade movies (especially the 1st, though I think it had the least action, having more story) & Underworld...don't know if movies like Van Helsing, X-Men (1 & 2 only), ect count or not. I think I'll go with The Scorpion King. Guy flick, but I found it fun, and the little boy in it was insanely cute, too. I've gotten to like Dwayne Johnson (aka "the Rock") as an actor overall, too (hey, anyone who can play in Hannah Montana and let Miley & Emily put him in makeup is someone VERY confident about his masculinity! I truly enjoyed his role in Race to Witch Mountain, too, and I'm hard pressed to think of anyone who could've possibly pulled that role as a harsh taxi driver hiding a heart of gold off anywhere as well as he did...) I've enjoyed Jackie Chan flicks, too, but generally see them as more comedy (at least the ones I particularly enjoyed). IP: Logged |
