I like everyone on The Closer. I forget her name, but I like the newest vampire on True Blood. Hoyt Fortenberry is sweet ~ such a gentleman. I probably would have jumped him, too. Andy, who is getting caught up in what's going on right now, but is also trying to do his job and do the right thing. Bill, trying to figure out how to handle Jessica (that's her name), so that she won't go around killing people. The vampire who was kidnapped, last season... I was glad of the lack of gore, this week ~ they seemed to be trying to out-do themselves, in previous episodes. I like Pam and Eric together, but don't like their way of handling things "vampire style". Lafayette, with the "AIDS burger," last season. Oh, and Terry Bellefleur. I used to like Coach. Craig T. Nelson has at least three planets in Aries, from what I remember. His character seemed rather emblematic of a stereotypical Aries male. My So-Called Life, and Homicide. quote: My all-time favorite show is Golden Girls. I have season one and two on dvd. 5 more seasons to go. I know all the shows, but I still watch them, over and over. It gives me a weird sense of comfort. Have no idea why.
It does that for me, too. It's one of those shows that I love to find airing, when I need to curl up, shut the world out for a while, and lighten up. I've watched a lot of TV in my time ~ I could be here all day. IP: Logged |

Uncle Junior from The Sopranos. Foul mouthed old man. "Did you hear the one about the Chinese Godfather? He made them an offer they couldn't understand" Guy comes home with a bouquet of flowers for his wife. "I guess I'll have to spread my legs now.", she says. "Why?", he asks, "Don't ya have a vase?". What did the blind man say when he passed the fish market? "Good morning, ladies." IP: Logged |

I've never seen The Sopranos. I might get the DVDs out of the library, when I've finished watching Carnivale.IP: Logged |

Yes absolutely to the Sopranos. I didn't mention it because I am Italian, and it is the law that you have to like The Sopranos if your Italian, or they like revoke your license or something. I jest, but I cannot think of one family member who doesn't watch!IP: Logged |

As just a cautionary tale, I once rented the first eps (4 IIRC) of the Sopranos, and I was only barely able to watch it all, and never got another. My anger level got too high. That said, the characterizations and such are brilliant, IMO, and I did find the story of an organized crime family with ordinary family problems (and how they were dealt with) quite interesting. But I just couldn't help but get ticked off on many of the things that happened in the story. But I expect that if you like crime dramas (even when the bad guys get away with it), you'd probably enjoy this one, as so many others do. And since I'm chiming in again, I'll add that I'd very much like to mix with Buffy's "scoobies" or Angel's group (btw, a lot of crossover here, as Angel was a spin off of Buffy). Well, if offered in real life I'd probably run screaming, knowing what kind of trouble they get into, but I'd say they're among my favorites.

I agree with all of this and I would add Lennie Briscoe and Ed Green from L&O as well. To all of you Homicide fans - Bayliss and Pembleton were the greatest!

Thanks for the opinions on The Sopranos - both for and against. I have a few weeks worth of Burn Notice to catch up on, which reminds me: I liked Touching Evil, when it was on (USA network), and want to see the original British version, when I can. I liked Branca and Creegan, in the US version (Branca was played by Vera Farmiga), but don't remember much about the other characters. NCIS is another favourite. I got into that one just after Christmas. IP: Logged |
