How often do you eat fast food?

Which fast food franchise is your favorite, if you ate fast food- and why?

Why do you like fast food?

Thank you.

Not often, but maybe once in a while when there's nothing else.

i do love a good old-fashioned new york style pizza. there is only one place in my part of the world that makes it. i go there about once aweek, and have a real salad with it. not even sure pizza qualifies when it's made with real ingredients. but that is my fast food allowance.

i remember when the first mcdonald's came to the town i was in - 1969/70? they were 19c!! so some friends and i tried it and made up our minds never to try again. i have stuck with that though i loved kfc in those days.

it all makes me feel congested in the intestines, so there is no payoff for eating it...

Almost unheard of unless I tag along with others who go. Plus, a long road trip (though I've never gone on such a long trip alone).

I do like some of the stuff as Schlotzsky's, but even then I very rarely go, especially by myself (say 3-5 times a year, not counting trips). I just really like the taste (at least for fast food).

Even rarer are fast food Mexican...generally I have to find it convenient, affordable, and at least a little tasty (Taco Bell is easiest, but I find myself drowning their stuff in sauce...)

About with the same frequency would be fish places, and I'm impressed with the tartar sauce that LJS manages to put out (though I'm probably happier not knowing their secret recipe ). (Actually, count one kiosk at a beach, and this is probably the most likely place for me to order food from...I'm not even sure it can be counted as fast food since it's privately owned, but it's a lot like it.)

I enjoy pizza from time to time, but I've never gone by myself...not even at the mall now that I think about it.

Normally when I get food already made, it's from a co-op, now that I think about it. I have a fondness for ethnic cuisines, but I only very rarely go (at least by myself), about as often as Schlotzsky's. It's very rare for me to eat at a mall food court (maybe 1 time every other year, at least by myself), and when I do, it's probably something ethnic (but fast food in this case).

Yeah, like Dervish... unless I'm with people who dragged me there.

How often do you eat fast food? once or twice a week

Which fast food franchise is your favorite, if you ate fast food- and why? Jack In The Box because HELLO they have potato wedges covered in cheese and bacon bits. But if I'm not in the mood for cheesy goodness they actually have REALLY good salads - and with the light balsamic dressing the calories are good, too.

Why do you like fast food?
It's helpful if I don't have time to make lunch when I go to work or if I'm in a HUGE rush at night and can't make dinner (yes, I do really get that busy)

I DON'T eat fast food.

In fact, I avoid any type of chain restaurant- because even if it's not McD, Pizza Hut, Arby's, what have you.. the food is still produced by factory farms.

Yes, I have read Fast Food Nation, and The Omnivore's Dilemma... but my opinion was formed before I read these books.
Even at an Applebys, an Outback, what have you.. the food is crap, their labor practices are terrible, and the "fast food mentality" sickens me.

I do cross country road trips twice a year. I have logged about 20,000 miles driving across the Grand Ole USA. I usually find co-ops, and just eat food I purchase.
It's really hard, but I feel as if I must avoid these places. If I choose to have the strong opinions I do, then I feel I am obligated to "walk my talk."

Guilty confession- DAMN I miss McD's french fries...

MK, I admire your resolve. IMO, a guilty confession should be that you let your friends share their McD's fries with you, not that you miss them.

i suppose fish and chips qualify, they are fast, but they are also made with REAL fish (fresh!) and real potatoes. there was a time when a bag of chips was my daily meal! with salt and vinegar of course....though deep fried this meal is the saving grace of a lot of english people. the fish for protein and healthy oils, the potatoes for vitamin c and calories! and the vinegar to keep the body's ph balanced and resistant to intruding microbes!

i WISH a good chip shop lived near me!

I don't really consider pizza to be fast food, either. Especially if it's from a small place that makes everything fresh. You can get a slice of pizza loaded with veggies with no cheese and it's pretty healthy.
