*heavy breathing*
*lascivious grin*
*secret long-lense camera at the ready*

No really, what are you wearing?

You know, I look a right state today. Like I got dressed in the dark.

Shoes
Black flat mary jane type shoes. Ugly quite frankly, although they are good all-rounders as they have a high rubber sole which makes them mildly amphibious, they are narrow enough for cycling and have a round toe which is good for my irregularly sized feet (one size 4, the other a size 5.5). The strap has velcro, good on/off properties as many of the people whom I visit have a "No shoes indoors" policy. Bit gutted about the shoes actually. I have had 4 pairs of them over the years. They used to be made in Britain and they had leather uppers, but now they are made in China and are plastic. I bought them online thinking they'd be the same, but oh the times they are a changin.

Socks
Black. I favour knee-length socks because they are good for tucking trousers into when cycling so that the hem of trousers* does not get munched in the bike chain. Plus when not cycling I enjoy a warm calf, you know? I have a tendency to muscle cramp and they help. However, today one sock is ankle length and the other is knee length. Which means that Pisces is probably going about with one ankle length and one knee length sock. Nice. Especially as he's visiting his Mum today. He's going to kill me messing with his socks again, I've already been warned. But then I do wash them in my machine, so tough luck bebe.
*see below

Trousers, or Pants to you Americans
Black, cotton, with one hem munched by the bike chain because the ankle length sock is on the right foot and there was not enough sockage for tuckage. D'oh!

Skirt
Yes, I usually wear a short skirt over trousers as I like the hippy dippy look. But I make the "skirts" myself out of nice fabric. This skirt has stylised birds on it, which are lime green on a cream background. I never used to like lime green but I do now.

Top
A cerise pink vest. I don't like the colour, it clashes with the veins in my eyes. It looked cherry red in the shop. And I am wearing a fawn cardigan with a hole in the sleeve. Must sort that out. Some I would guess, 10 year old boys were laughing at the hole when I was in a cafe on Saturday and it still didn't shame me into mending it. Underneath that I have on a bikini top which is pale yellow with cerise pink polka dots. So there is some co-ordination at least. Given up proper bras as there is just no point *chestally challenged* so I have a nice collection of bright bikini tops instead.

Hair
Disastrous hair day. Frizzy and there are brown roots. If I were to describe myself as a dog I'd be an Afghan Hound.

Jewellery, or Jewelry to you Americans
I don't do earrings although I have piercings. They make me feel "eww". My friends marched me to the jewellers when I was 18 and practically forced me to have it done. I've never really worn them since, though I did try. No necklace. I have only one set of beads that I like, but they could be anywhere. I have one silver ring on my right hand "flip the bird" finger which has elephants engraved on it. Been wearing this for 10 years since I bought it in Laos. Ooh, name dropper.

Make up
None. Don't do make up, though I probably should. Can't be bothered and I always forget I have it on, so I end up looking like the Joker by the end of the day.

You?

Hey! It's good, though we will have to move out soon because my brother slacked on getting a job. Then when he did get one he abruptly lost it. I cant afford to take care of both of us anymore. Oh well. I tried.

*sorry, back on topic

Aww, dude, sorry to hear that. My Living With a Sibling experiment is going a bit pear-shaped too. Having "a chat" later. She's a bit keen on telling me where I should be, when and for how long. Which sucks a bit since last time I looked I'm an adult. And she's also not fussed about getting a job...

Anyhoo!! Back OT.

Thanks Wheels! I was once warned by Zala not to eat or drink anything while reading in LL, so the coffee I just choked on while reading your description is completely my own fault. OMG, too funny! Your a funny girl.

I am wearing:
brown and Turqoise bathing suit top (my wardrobe consists of many brown/turq combos, it is my favorite, my daughter calls it, "Mom's uniform."
Cut off jean shorts, we don't need to discuss the underwear, I wouldn't think...

shoes: whoops, no shoes, wonder where I left my shoes???

Hair: hahahaha is what I have to say about that. I have curly hair too, and it is HUMID in Ohio, so what started out as a semi-attractive bun, has slumped to one side and has some wild tendril things flipping out the other side, yeeah, it is one attractive hair do.

Jewelry: I always wear a humungous Ozzy Osbourne looking crucifix on a silver chain. I am currently wearing some silver bands on different fingers, and an antique ring that my great-grandma had made for her in New York. Also a dolphin ankle bracelet.

Makeup- Whassat? Umm, I have blue nail polish on, I love blue nail polish, matches said "uniform" from above. And I always wear lip gloss. Even in my sleep. I have some tucked in every niche, and reapply constantly, dry lips are a pet peeve. ewww.

P.S. I lived with my brother for 1 year, and also my brother-in-law for over a year. I should say, they lived with me. Didn't work out for me either.
Sorry to hear that T.

They are comfy. It's interesting that they inspire comments, too. One Libra at work thought I looked ready for boating one day. Today my boss asked if I was ready to play some golf. I can see the golf comment. The boating one...well maybe my shoes looked like deck shoes from a distance.

purple tank nightgown with dark purple lace trim
hair in a bun
clear polish on nails (finger and toe)
- the unemployed uniform

I did have to leave the house to go to the bank for a few minutes today and I wore:
green heather fruit of the loom mens t-shirt
black yoga pants
gray and purple New Balance sneakers
burgundy drawstring bag
hair in a bun

I'm back in the nightgown...I'm one of those people who strips down completely and puts their hair up as soon as they get home, ah comfort...

Shoes

Cthulhu (pronounced K'Tulu) slippers:
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/12/05/plush-cthulhu-slippe.html

Socks
None yet, but when going out I often prefer multicolored stripes of some kind, like these:
http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/rainbow-knee-socks

(also leggings; also like neon colors, though I have a wide variety I wear depending)

Trousers, or Pants to you Americans

Right now, these are close enough to what I'm wearing:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2529/3754088478_b222f23c43_b.jpg

I love cargo pants the best, I can carry so much in them! Mine stretch as well as being slim fit, so they allow me a lot of freedom of movement.

Skirt

None now.

I can make my own, too, and have a wide variety. Right now my favorite are dark gothic ones with red hearts and Hello Kitty on them (at least a HK button). I love enigmatic clothing. Avril seems to have made this style more acceptable, too (not that she has this specific style, but close enough that people think I'm being edgy instead of weird )

Top

I love wearing vests over shirts, too. I generally want the colors of both to be different, yet flow together (say a dark red shirt under a black vest, or a pastel pink shirt under a pastel rainbow vest--both of these combos that I have, btw).

Right now:
http://shop.pacsun.com/girls/tanks/Arbour-Cami/index.pro?colorCd=157

Hair
Hair ok. It tends to be a bit flyaway, but right now it's damp and being straight.

Jewellery, or Jewelry to you Americans

None at the moment. I actually like cheap jewelry, at least with the right outfits. Generally, I wear friendship bracelets on a regular basis, and I prefer my jewelry made out of hemp as various metals irritate my skin. I sometimes wear a ring to appear as if I'm married, especially on Fridays & Saturdays.

Make up

None now, AC busted, house too hot. And I generally only put any significant amount on when going out where I want to look nice or professional.

Btw, I love headwear, scarves, and belts, too. I've got all kinds of both. I think I'm more obsessed with these than I am shoes. But I'm not wearing either at the moment.

Gold thongs (US translation > flip flops!!) (all class), mocha toe nail paint, 3 quarter length dark denim jeans- tight!, a dark green tribal patterned t shirt with mocha trimming, a gold hair tie, a bracelet, a wrist chain, a bangle, a spiral ring, a ruby ring, a diamond ring, a quartz ring, emerald earrings, platinum silver earrings, and a gold belly ring with a diamond. No makeup, just eyeliner because it makes my eyes pop out, not literally, and mocha color hair, 'beez' wax lip shimmer and moisturizer, natural nails and natural everything else.

Dervish, your shoes gave me vague nightmarish thoughts.....
Lovecraft used to scare me witless, spitless and **itless (haven't read him for years)

dtm, I'm the same as you in the arrive-home = strip'n'get-comfy thang

I went to a computer class today so didn't need to dress in my work attire, yay!!

  • too-long jeans, dragging on the ground cuz I wore my black tire-tread sandals (these things will NEVER wear out!!) instead of heels
  • melon/salmon colored tee
  • black onyx 'n' silver ring
  • antique silver bracelet
  • silver earthreads with little hearts at the ends
  • hair chased down, captured and confined to a hair clip to stay out of face & away from keyboard
  • black linen jacket
  • no makeup, running too late this morning to make the effort
I'd give anything to have seen a pic of the exotic attire you headed this post with, missy wheels

Wheels, do tell us what your wearing today, and did you and the Pisces sort out your sox?

Oh god Gypsee. I stayed at Pisces' last night (he wasn't there, gone to Mama) and he'd turned off all the electrics and I couldn't be arsed to figure out how to turn them on (solar panel, complicated - for me). So I was relying on a candle and this morning I woke up at 5, lit the candle and got dressed then spilled the candle wax down my black top and frankly girl it looks like some man got overexcited on my norks, nome sayin? I can't get it off, it's like jersey fabric and cos I was at his house I couldn't change. ARRRRRGGGGGH. Under the black top I have a halter-neck orange, mustard and raspeberry linen (very fine linen, beautifully made) top that I got out of a charity shop for £3. Bargain. The bottom of it peeks out of the bottom of the black top. Black trousers and the Mary Janes again. Same socks. My god, I am feral. A bad week. Hell, no-one's around to smell them, sod it. Hair? - just don't even go there. Makeup? Bah! I can't even wash my socks and you're asking me about makeup?

You?

I dunno what Pisces' socks are doing. He's installing a kitchen sink for his Irish Mamma and getting fed whiskey in front of a plate of potatoes and gravy while watching things about the Moon landing and being called "Lamb". I doubt he cares about socks, it sounds like he's as content as a pig in sh!t. His Mum may even have replaced them with knitted ones. Apparently if you stay in the same place too long she'll just knit right over you. Bless.

And pretty much everything you write I love Gypsee, you entertain the crap out of me. Love you to bits.

This thread has turned out funny.
