Why not? Everyone else is. I got a new cell phone not too long ago and the first day I had it, some guy called asking for some girl he knew. He sounded half in the bag. I politely explained to him that I just got the phone and new number and he had the wrong one, that she no longer has this number. It seemed he didnt believe me and it was a sort of awkward couple of moments and I tried to convince him that it really wasnt the girl he was looking for because I could tell he wasnt believing me. We hung up, but he seemed slightly miffed because I think he thought it was her pretending not to be. I have since heard from him a few times and either not answered or explained over again. Hoping he might be sober and believe me.Since then, I have had a couple of different people call and leave messages. One filling me in on his new job and hoping all was well with me and something about snowmobiles. If I dont know the number I dont usually pick up. I called another person back once and left a message explaining that unfortunately they had the wrong number. Today I had two voicemails congratulating me on my new baby and a couple of text messages. I've been busy and havent been able to get back to them all. I replied by text to one explaining they had the wrong number. At this point, i'm kind of giving up and have decided not to respond to any of them anymore. One says: "Okay Marshall, put us out of our misery and tell us how it went! Girl or boy and how is everyone???" The latest: "Congrats Daddy we are so happy for you guys. Pete and Shalan" God help me. I've decided to take it as a message from the Universe that I have finally reached Godhood. IP: Logged |

I imagined that last sentence as: I've been busy and haven't been able to have a baby. Worst prank ever: text them ...oh nevermind that's just too bad

Getting around to putting a answering message up in my own voice rather than leaving the pre-recorded one might help too.IP: Logged |

This actually happened with another phone I had but I somehow quickly put a stop to it. Not seeming to be the case here. IP: Logged |

There's more where that came from:Text: It has a tail. I knew she was cheating on me! Text: It has webbed toes. We're putting it up for adoption. IP: Logged |

About a year ago, I was getting nasty collection agency calls on my new cell number. The agents were pretty insistant that either I really was the Marie Blahblah who owed them money or I was hiding the whereabouts of the real Marie Blahblah. It was a pain. I don't usually pick up unknown numbers, but collections people aren't satisfied with just leaving a message. They like to call againandagainandagain. AcousticGod -

there is a national DO NOT CALL list you can put yourself on where collectors are concerned...unless you have done business with them in the past they can get in serious schtuck if they disregard and i believe there is a way to claim damages as well...course it does NOT apply to private callers getting the wrong number due to misinformation! Well T, some time ago I had read in Yellow Wax news about your brother.... then I read you were going to be a Nanny and I thought what a cute pet name for an Aunty.... Then, I read further and you are indeed a Nanny not Aunty. Now you`re a Father Girl, you are one confusing Taurus ar I`m one ditzy Aquarian ------------------ What we do for ourselves dies with us. Hahahahaha! Yes, I'm different things to different people. Yeah, it's a fun gig, this nanny thing. Easy too as it's not many hours per week in exchange for dirt cheap rent. I lucked out. IP: Logged |
