Randall - I am sorry to bother you, I wouldn't normally say this or ask you this about any knowflake.. but La Sexorcisto's reply here was completely out of line and unwarranted.. and completely insensitive in this situation.This is the thread: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/203952.html If it was a mistake - and she apologizes for her comment.. then OK Otherwise I honestly feel she should be banned. La sexorcisto - you usually contribute positive things and astro-relevant things. I was really not expecting such a comment from you.

People have said more inflammatory things on here and have not been banned.It's not a comforting remark in the least but if she had said *hugs* right after it, would you be bothered? IP: Logged |

It isn't about the inflammatory nature of the post.It is about the sensitive nature of the thread where the post was posted. This is a life or death matter.

Do you honestly feel that *hugs* fits in after the comment: "do you think you are a special exception?" IT is blatantly obvious from the initial post that no one thought they were a "special" exception to anything. So that was completely unwarranted sarcasm. one thing for sure is we all are going to die, i didn't read the whole thread, but i don't see that she was mean or sarcastic. throughout all of history, everyone that is born dies. life is a cycle. she was just making a fact not being mean i dont think. i have no idea why you would want her to banned for that, and objected to saunch being banned after he was EXTREMELY rude directly to knowflakes and deflamatory much of the time. i seriously don't think she was trying to be mean. It is about her NEXT remark.. of: "Do you THINK you are a special exception?" Which is plainly INAPPROPRIATE in a thread dealing with such a sensitive topic. I am not alone in finding it inappropriate - but if you believe otherwise, that is your prerogative. This thread is directed at Randal only.. and please do not bring up situations that are unrelated about previous posters being banned. If you seriously cannot see a DIFFERENCE there - when it comes to the seriousness of this situation... Then I'm sorry - we are either not reading the same thing or we must be extremely different people. Her initial post was extremely mature about it and did not warrant such sarcasm - not even a little bit. If la_sexorcisto believes this is OK.. Then I'm sorry but she needs to grow up and learn what is appropriate and what is inappropriate in a particular setting and situation. Well folks, a few people at LL made fun of me during a few strokes and even accused me of faking it, and harassed me severely at a time when the stress could have killed me.
The harassment extended to spam mail and threats and even vicious phone calls!
There will always be nasty folks who make fun of folks who are ill.
There have indeed been worse things said at LL to folks who were ill, and not only to me.
Yeah this jerk deserves banned but no one who said worse was ever banned from LL for being cruel to ill folks, or in one case, a dying person who died.

I am with you on this vapor-lash.
I wasn't surprised that somebody created a thread about it. I thought the post in Unmoved's thread was inappropriate, especially with the grave nature of Unmoved's post.

and made a silly comment without knowing the situation.

Yeah I found that to be very insensitive and rude! Comments like that make people feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable in LL.
She should be put in the naughty corner for 3 months 
No all jokes aside I think she should at least apologise. That is so frightening to know you could've died and that comment was not called for. In fact she's in hospital right now and has turned to all of us for help but she has made a remark that has offended not just Unmoved but everybody.

I agree that she probably didn't read the post fully. She just saw the title maybe and went, Oh Ho-Hum, another person asking for a death prediction lol.
Careless, yes. Rude, yeah. Callous, absolutely.
But she hasn't said a thing to defend herself, so I think she probably feels very embarrassed.I've seen people say some really lame things on here to each other and not get banned. And have seen them do it repeatedly.
The tone of her prior posts don't match up with her comments, so no, I don't think she was being deliberate. And if she was, then I don't think she's the only one who should get banned, considering some of the really mean things I've seen getting hurled around here. Oh well...just an opinion. Two cents. Like MVM said, there have been others that said very negative things, and they didn't get banned. I do believe that she should apologize to Unmoved. another thing: I think that if there is a problem with somebody, the person should notify the webmaster in private through an email. It's discreet and private.

Whether she is embarrassed or not.. She simply should apologize.

For this girl to get away with this without so much as a warning.. without an apology.. is simply NOT OK. Not in my book anyway. And I could care less whether she is 12 or 50 years old.

Really? Well personally - I mean I guess we have different opinions on that.. but personally from the things I've read so far ON here.. Nothing stood out as much as this and nothing has bothered me as much as this - purely due to the nature of the situation. Unmoved needed encouragement. I understand if some people see this ON PAR with other insults and things that have happened. I do not. I think it's much worse. AND if other things that were *as* bad have happened in the past - such as the things LEXX described.. Vapor, why didn't you drop me a line if you felt there was something inappropriate going on in the astro forum?Why bother Randall when I can take care of this issue?
I haven't read the thread yet but it isn't like la sexorcisto is one with a potty mouth, if she said something that you're taking offense to well then maybe she translated it wrong, it could be a mistake. I'm on my way over there now. edited: there's nothing wrong with what la sexorcisto said, she was a little blunt but we are all going to die sooner or later. La Sexorcisto is actually a nice girl, she's sweet and helpful

Hi Vapor lash. Thank you for standing up for me. It took me aback because to be quite frank, I didn't know you cared.  I'm touched that you saw the offense I saw as well, but after much thought, I had to assume that she was doing some sort of dry humor that I missed. Of course, worse things have been said here. I don't think she should be banned because of this, but I might be slightly weary of her. I was just disappointed and surprised since I've come cross this girl many a times on LL and I've always liked her contributions here. The fact is that she did anger me, but as you saw my reaction to her, I asked her questions to clarify what her point was intended to be by her statements. The fact is, after she said that, I went defensive also because it was very insensitive to me. But after my pride got healed I realized that not everyone cares. I posted my situation for two reasons: 1. For the warmth and support LL gives because I was feeling scared. 2. We always dissect charts post mortum, so how cool would it be to do one just before death to see the transits causing that. I understand that some might have seen my post as looking for attention or some other unsavory reason. But I posted for exactly what I got, the love, the laughs and the connection to all you wonderful beings. I'm aware that by putting something out there, people might not take it the way it was sent. This could've happened to la sexacisto too. Therefore, I'm going to leave it be, and go back to the other thread to laugh at lolcatz. I'm still typing from phone so my thumbs are tired. I hope I made sense here. I'm a little dizzy. Thank you all for your concern. ------------------
