I would just like to say something that came into my mind the other day. It is important that we bear in mind that people of all ages can come to this site. A lot of the members here might be quite young, and if someone says something that might sound a bit naive, we might need to bear this in mind. Young people, and anyone not used to what forums can be like, can be easily hurt. I thought of something earlier where I was joining in with a bit of teasing somewhere, even though I meant it to be harmless. There are knowflakes of all ages on this website, some probably in their early teens. So we older knowflakes should just bear this in mind. Sorry....back to the nominations. IP: Logged |

AG and teasel for this forumkatatonic, yin, and cpn for other forums I already moderate this forum as much as I'm interested in moderating it. ♥ teasel would be nicest as a encouraging presence in a gentler forum but a gentle presence to balance out AG's firmer approach would be useful here as well. All I want to know is where are the other 2 mods who are supposed to take care of the forum as of present? Why are they not enough? If this is to be a battleground very much like Global Unity then maybe Randall should be the moderator just like in Global Unity.

I like the way LEXX mod's her forum. I think LLC needs someone like her. She is thorough and on the ball. Everyone elses suggestions are good too. But i'd like to see LEXX on the mod list. If she doesn't mind. IP: Logged |

I would vote for LEXX as well, but I wonder if there's some hesitation about the situation/position. If there's not, then absolutely. IP: Logged |

SunChild Thank you! I do not read every post or follow every thread closely, but if there were a concern, I would if mod, prefer folks e-mailed me about it first, instead of posting their grievance, and then I would take a look to ascertain what should or should not be done about it. I would also consult Randall if I was unsure how it should be addressed. I do not have time to monitor each and every post...who does? However, any complaint/concern e-mailed to me, I would look into ASAP! Additionally I would show no favoritism... friend or foe... And I would hope no one would expect favoritism from me..... A moderator is like a supervisor..... favoritism is counterproductive to performing the moderator duties to the letter. LOL! I still want to be a mod at Lexigram Magic. LOL! I really do not get into being a mod, it can be an alienating factor in a way. Harder to participate....makes some folks paranoid.I am not voting publicly, so as to not hurt any feelings nor anger some possibly. One cannot choose every person nominated , nor wanting to become a moderator.

MyVirgoMask Thank you. Yes, some hesitation. I hate enforcing rules, but as when I have been supervisor on jobs, I would do so, because that is what one is "hired" to do. Sadly, it does not always make folks like one. Some folks too often take it personal when it is not personal. When there are rules, there are rules.... I am not the rule maker. Take your complaints to the creator of the rules, not to me! I personally like having a framework of rules because it simplifies things. And rules can be discussed and changed or altered! My other hesitation is being that I am disabled, I simply cannot follow closely each and every thread! But seriously who can or actually does? Very time consuming/intensive! I would prefer to have folks e-mail me with concerns and alert me to any potential trouble...then I could go take a look and take it from there. LOL! Folks have already been doing that! (e-mailing me with concerns) I would then if there were a problem contact all persons involved or have Randall do so. I am logged on here at LL most every day (with rare exception), unlike the absentee mods we're are too familiar with. However on some days only on but briefly throughout the day/night, but do endeavor to check my e-mail a few times a day/night. Not excited about being a mod here at LLC2, but if Randall felt I'd work out, I would accept.------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... LEXX...yes, it's complicated business, isn't it. You've been around here a long time, and I am sure you've seen/read a whole lot and have had to deal with more than a fair share of complaints. I do think you'd make a great mod here. I think you garner a lot of respect because you're direct and honest, but also compassionate, and can see many sides of a situation fairly.I honestly do not know how people do it - mainly because I feel that fairness on the forums isn't always dictated by rules, but often driven by 'politics'...I view this as unfortunate but it's also kind of a given. A mod's job is not one I envy - but it is one I respect. Also, LL Central (1 and 2) are general forums, and the topics here run the gamut, from the absurd to the serious. I like that. I like that it's general...that subjects are kind of like the way life itself moves, from the serious to the absurd. It's flowing and natural, and needs to be kept that way, which is another reason why I think it would be kind of difficult to moderate because it would require a measure of real balance which isn't forced, but remains organic. Ah well. Enough rambling for me. I hope this topic of mods gets resolved soon. Mercury rx makes me wonder if anything resolved now would stick, however IP: Logged |
