Musette quote: LEXX, I hope you haven't had to deal with and dry sockets as those are horribly painful from what I understand.
Uh oh....you must have missed this: quote: Still a ways to go yet, because the surgery into the jaw bone takes time to heal and discovered a new painful thing..... even when the outer parts look healing and closed, the inside can have a version of "dry socket".........no fun. :-(
Things are healing but still on pain meds and antibiotics for a few more weeks. So yes, am recovering from horrible dry socket with complications to boot, ear infections (spread from jaw). Better now, had a follow up this morning with the oral surgeon. He said he could open things up surgically and pack in something to stop the double dry sockets but would rather I try and bear with the pain because cutting it all open would add weeks more to healing time. So I am exhausted and too often wonky headed. But things are healing. More to go in two weeks with possible laser surgery. Yay. I will get through this.charmainec Thank you! LEXX, did you have laser surgery? I haven't seen you around lately so I'm hoping exhaustion and pain haven't gotten you down. It sounds like a smart decision to not get full-on surgery because of the added healing time.IP: Logged |

Musette quote: LEXX, did you have laser surgery?
No. It was intensive drilling and cutting deep into the jaw and flesh, and painful does not even begin to describe the agony. quote: I haven't seen you around lately so I'm hoping exhaustion and pain haven't gotten you down.
Still recovering, and the ordeal has been going on for over 4 months to date and at least 2 more surgeries are scheduled in a few months.Yes, I am very exhausted with it all on top of being disabled. quote: It sounds like a smart decision to not get full-on surgery because of the added healing time.
Sadly complications, so all was and will be regular surgery/surgeries, not laser. Fortunately the next ones should be not as painful because the jaw bone and ear infections are under control. LOL! I have lost weight from it all at least! ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> .☆¨¯`♥ ¸.☆¨¯`♥ ¸.☆¨¯`♥ IP: Logged |

Good to see you post again, LEXX! Sorry laser wasn't an option for you, but sometimes the more involved and complicated procedure helps more in the long run. I wince when I read about all you have gone through and are going through! IP: Logged |
