Don't take it for granted, it is special.

I had an experience on another forum at Mothering.com. I joined years ago and I started posting again this month, this time I started posting interesting links to articles I came across such as the "Limbic Imprint" in the birthing section, about 10 emotional people jumped in saying they were offended by the article, I could literally hear the screams likened to Jerry Springers audience.

The thread got deleted and so did my privileges, I wrote a goodbye thread expressing my disappointment at the censorship and how the moderators behave, that thread got deleted too as well...WT?

How the heck did I get banned? LOL for being me? I even paid a small amount to support that site, I didn't have to either.

No one wanted to engage in an intelligent, thoughtful or respectful debate, rather they cried and ripped my thread up and I got in trouble for it. All because it talked about consciousness, psychological patterns beginning at birth, love, philosophical thoughts and possibilities.

I've been speaking to the Moderator in email, she is responding to all my emails trying to back peddle on the claims she made that I attacked people and wrote offensive things.

Lindaland is the best forum on the internet, I know there are others like it, but Mothering.com is far from being conscious as you can be- even though they promote a natural life style- it is embarrassing how they treat people who have a deepened mind and a huge heart who want to explore possibilities.

I was also thinking, to be able to express ourselves fully even if we happen to offend someone, it promotes learning and growth!, If nothing was allowed to happen, we would stagnate, it would be a boring place.

Mildly curious, I briefly checked the site, and if it's the same one as for the magazine to "inspire" then I'm baffled why anyone would make a fuss over yours. On the magazine site was something about medical marijuana for mothers and on the forum I quickly saw all kinds of potentially controversial subjects (like wanting to send kids to school without vaccinations). I wouldn't have guessed it as shying away from your links either (and plenty of other threads to take up their time, too).

But then I only briefly looked, and there could be another domain or whatever with the same name.

And yeah, one reason I seem to keep coming back is it stays interesting here, in part because there isn't heavy moderation, though it sometimes also feels like the wild west in some ways on some days, too. When a thread annoys me I don't bother a mod about it, I just stay away from it, problem solved. (Just to prevent possibly misunderstandings, I'd like to add that I stay away from many threads for other reasons as well, such as just general lack of interest to lack of time, and I also don't respond to many that I do take an interest in and/or appreciate.)

Sunchild,

I am very sorry that happened to you.

I've been banned from astro.com forum forever, accused of having a political agenda.

You know what my political agenda was.

Helping raise awareness about neurological/learning differences and how they overlap with psychiatric disorders/psychological problems as well as astrological indicators for them.

All I did was write about Neuropsychological Astrology. After all, a lot of Astrologers focus on the astrological. They focus on the human behavior, personality, the mind, and the body.
Also many neurodivergents have psychological problems and diagnosed as having psychiatric disorders.

With astrologers focusing on so much on Psychology, I thought that it would make sense to understand about neurodivergence and their connection with psychological problems and psychiatric disorders and how they can be seen in a chart.

I believe that expressing a view is fine.

However, some people express their views and really push them to the point that they expect them to have the same views as them.

They tell people that they are not a certain thing because that's not their true selves like they know them much better.

That is what happened to me in this form.
I am a neurodivergent who is neurodiversity advocate/activist who formed a nonprofit neurodiversity organization.
Naturally,I don't want people telling me that I am not a neurodivergent.

I don't think African Americans that are African American rights activists don't like being told that they are not African Americans because that's not their true selves.

I don't think gays that are gay rights activists don't like being told that they are not gay because that's not their true selves.

I don't think women that are women's rights activists don't like being told that they are not women because that's not their true selves.

Why is that Starseeds,Indigos,Crystals don't have to be told that they are not Starseeds because that's not their true selves.

Shouldn't people have the right to label themselves as things that they feel comfortable with and relate to without people telling them that they are not those labels.

Heck..I've been given a hard time just for identifying with the label, multiracial or mulatto because I refuse the Black, African American label. After all, I am an American, but not all my ancestors are Black Africans.
All my life, I struggled for my multiracial identity even though people constantly try to force me to stick only one race for me to identify as - Black,African American.

I was so damned happy that I can identify as more than one race for the Census.

I did that for the 2000 and 2010 Census.
I was only 2.4 percent of Americans that identified as more than one race for 2000 Census. I was only 5 percent of Americans that identified as more than one race for 2010 Census.

I believe that there is a lot more multiracial people than that.
I am not stuck on racial boundaries. I am trying to transcend the racial boundaries. I don't let people fit me in the race box.

any ways....All of those things are labels.

Names are labels. All of us have names that we use,and so we are using labels. We have nicknames that we use in the forum. Those are labels.

I see people on this forum referring to themselves and others as "Cancer", "Aries, and other zodiac signs that that their sunsign is in. Those are labels. I don't even identify as being "Scorpio" because I believe that I am more than just my sunsign. I believe that I am more than just my ecliptic longitude chart that I even look at other coordinates like Declinations and Right Ascension. My Declination and Right Ascension charts are me too and not just my Ecliptic Longitude chart. Even then, my soul transcends all those damn charts. Therefore, how can anybody pin me down as a "Scorpio". That would be greatly limiting me.

All words are labels any way. They are just names to identify thoughts that are expressed in oral and written language.

I'd think that being one's true self wouldn't even use words, language like "true self"

We didn't come into this world as infants using words, language.

After all, words, language that we use are made my humans. They are social constructs.

Heck...as a little child, I had difficulty using words, language compared to most children. I didn't speak any words until I was 2 years old. I didn't speak in full sentences nor clearly until I was almost 8 years old. All my thinking was in pictures as a little child, and I had to be taught to think in words which is very easy for most children to learn by just exposure.

so yeah...even words to describe spiritual concepts are labels. Words don't have anything to do with one's true self.

If anything, just being and doing without using words could be about one's true self.
I believe one's true self goes beyond the use of words, language. I believe that it's just a state of being.

I think freedom can go only so far.
We don't want people in this forum putting other people down and calling them names including especially slurs when it comes to race, gender, sexuality, etc. Certain people can go too far in what they say.

That's why we have moderators.

Ideology easily divides us as much as it easily unites us. This definitely goes for people here in this forum.

Sadly SunChild, this is what often happens when your ideas, or even an article you post cuts against the grain of an entrenched minority who cannot stand to have their boat rocked in any way.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

On a different level:

Yes, we're fortunate here to have Randall; who, though he may not agree with what's being said, will permit you to say it anyway.

There are limits of course but in general, you have to be so far over the line and show an unwillingness to adhere to LindaLand societal rules that there's no way for you to get back.

Yes, LindaLand is a society in itself and a very special society it is.

I am so sorry, SunChild. You are one of the brightest lights in the entire world...of all the people to ban...omg! But most Forums are like that. I just can't believe people would react so violently to anything you say. I'm very sorry. You should not have had to experience that. It really takes a lot to get banned from Lindaland, and I lose members who leave due to the wide lattitude I grant to Knowflakes, but I try to respect freedom of expression as much as humanly possible. Thank you for your very kind words, and once again, I am very sorry (and shocked) to hear of the narrow-mindedness so-called enlightened people can exhibit.

SunChild,

I dunno if it's the best, but it's certainly ours. I've experienced a lot of acceptance for my ideas on at least one other forum. The people mostly disagree with my views, but they respect the higher levels of discussion. It's given me some insight on what pushes my buttons and what brings out the best in me. I hope to use that insight to improve my behavior and experience here. I enjoyed your thoughts. Thanks.

That's just pathetic that you'd get banned for expressing yourself. And I can't imagine that YOU would post something so offensive that you'd get banned... wtf?

LL is one of a kind, that's for sure.
