My husband has been friends with her for over 20 years and I met her about 13 years when I met him. I am so glad he was able to take her to the VA hospital. Well at least it was/is not "directly" heart. Her hb is like 6 (should be 12 to 16...and by international units she is at 3 (like Unmoved was here http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/203952.html) but should be at 7.4 to 9.9 for women) which means she has been losing blood mysteriously. She is gaunt and thin and has lost alot of weight in the last few weeks. She has passed menopause. They are keeping her in the VA hospital because the blood loss seems to be from the digestive system. She is very very weak and having tachycardia due to the extremely low hb count. They are going to give her a blood transfusion. This lady is a retired military person and when she can get a contract job she is a heavy equipment construction worker even though she is only 5'3" tall. This is very hard on her because she has always been very healthy, fit, active, and strong. So please everyone send her healing. She is scared. She is in the Erie Pennsylvania VA hospital. The important thing is that she will be taken care of thanks to you and your hubby and your kindness. Is it possible that she is allergic to gluten? I'm just thinking that with digestive bleeding and weight loss that might be a possibility. Whatever the case, her doctors will surely figure it out soon and hopefully it's easily fixed and she can get back home to her doggies quickly. IP: Logged

GypseeWind She got over being angry last night when she realized she was going to get an immediate blood transfusion, and how very close she came to dying. Living alone, what would have happened if she had gotten any weaker? No one would have known and she would have died and days would have passed before her body was found. Suffice it to say, we hope to talk her into doing a daily call in to us so we know she is OK. Musette Thank you! No, she is fine diet wise, except not eating enough on her income at this time. Going to buy her some food when she gets back home. Maybe a month or so of good basic eats. I am going to try to, or have my husband go pick her squash and freeze it up for her because she loves using it in stir fry, and squash must be picked often. She said she grew too much of it and wanted to give it to me, but I am going to pay her store prices for them because I know she grows them without pesticides and can definitely use the money ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Grrrrrr.... She called and said they might be keeping her and not letting her go home.... and my husband who came home early from work due to seizures is now out doing the 80 mile round trip perhaps for nothing. OK....she should be released soon. A strange thing happened to me though..... I rarely order delivered food but was too hot and stressed tonight so decided to order myself a fish dinner with grilled veggies. Well it was OK...and overpriced, but OK. But...... get this.... the delivery guy was the guy who had assaulted me in 2002 and repeatedly terrified me in 2001! And had 16 guests staying for months in his 3 room apartment over ours and played music and partied 24/7 and I could not sleep and his friends would try to scare me/us...and did (fighting, screaming, knives, suicide attempts from some, cops doing nothing but telling them to behave, shooting, vandalism, breaking into our apartment...it was horrible and he is the reason I have PTSS! I played dumb and hope he did not recognize me. I AM LIKE TOTALLY CREEEEEEEPED OUT! Now he knows where I live! Calm I must stay calm. Arrrrggghhhh! IP: Logged
