These work for me, too. I don't think that people are by nature, untrustworthy.

I trust people with little things. But, with otherwise personal and sensitive stuff, I've learned to keep it to myself...I don't look for others support or understanding, because I AM my support and understanding... Make sense? IP: Logged |

people that tell all of thier business, have no business.people that repeat confidences, certainly can not be trusted. if someone talks about others constantly, rest assured they will talk about you. people show you whether or not they can be trusted every single day. if you make a backstabber or gossiper your friend, how can you be surprised when someday they get you between the ribs with the blade while pretending to hug you? i personally don't trust people who tell me other peoples secrets. if they do it to them, they will do it to me. when i find someone trustworthy, i find a rare good thing. a friend indeed. personally i try to remember talk is cheap. what someone says is NEVER necessarily true. but trust? depends what you mean by trust i guess...i trust that nothing much anyone says can hurt me unless i let it. i trust that tomorrow will come even if my best friends are gone. i trust that if i speak with kind and honest intent the hurt some may feel will not be longlasting. and i trust that manipulators and liars will be VERY VERY sorry whether i do anything about them or not! i do not give my bank details to anyone...unless i am incapacitated and it is a power of attorney sitch. nor my online passwords!!! and i do my best not to tell ANYone's secrets lest it come back on me... Mhm. You just proved my point from the anti-marriage thread. I knew I wasn't wrong!

Wrong again, little c. Oh, I trust. To a point. But basically I mirror what Kat said.------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Charles Schultz IP: Logged |

My trust is wide open to everyone. If it's broken though, I don't even so much as look at that person again. They can beg at my feet all they want and I'll just laugh. Forgiveness is one of those things I have to work on.

i never lend anyone money i can't afford to lose...as byron katie says, i don't make loans, but gifts. if i get repaid then i call it a loan..it's kind of the same with confidences and trust, isn't it? if you spill your guts to someone don't blame THEM if they are human and tell someone else or use it against you? but in the end in MOST situations the harm done will only be to your ego/pride. I don't trust anyone- I have been known on occassion to tell my life story to an absolute stranger in 5 minutes when I am lonely- but other than that I am suspicious of everyone! lol

I'm like you charmCareful I completely trust my brother & my husband, out of the entire amount of people I actually know in person, that is not much But at least I am sure about it. I was once told something very true years ago, "everybody lies, everybody has an agenda" I didn't believe them, after 5 years or so, it is 99% true, I continuously found out the difficult way. Even online. Trust, complete trust, is a rare and beautiful thing. I thank the God for this treasure a lot. ------------------ “It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. She's not just looking at it; she's interacting with it…I’m seeing how the act of relating to a flower appears to be so simple. Yet, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to make such a “simple” act important. Now, the lotus is floating away.” IP: Logged |
