More importantly, are you happy? I am so happy I burst at the seams. No one can be happy all of the time; life is cyclical. But what is the secret? Is there a secret? I've achieved happiness, but I am not certain I could synthesize the reason(s) why or how and convey it in words. ------------------ "Cooking is like love. I think you make a conscious decision to be happy every day. It's a choice how you view things. You can wake up in the morning and think "**** , another crappy day in that crappy job. or you can think "It's a new day, I'm physically able to get up and go to work and subsequently put food on the table and occasionally have treats"I'm always happy. I am glad to be alive. What's the alternative? Death. And I have no idea what that's like and I'm in no bloody hurry to find out!! But I think my greatest key to happiness is that small things give me pleasure. A new lipstick, a coffee in a lovely cafe with a good friend, a meal out (doesn't have to be expensive. It's just the chat and the company) A good belly laugh with workmates. Watching a good movie and feeling uplifted. Somebody making you a nice cup of tea after a hard day. Hearing a fab song on the radio and getting it up on Youtube and playing it over and over. Having a dream. It's highly unlikely I shall win So You Think You can Dance a. because I can't dance and b.Because I am probably never going to learn BUT in my head I think I may well do one day! And the anticipation of what I am going to indulge in right now.....a glass or two of good red wine Cheers IP: Logged |

You know,I have had many incarnations as Gemini but I find that I LOVE doing psychic readings combined with astrology more than anything else I have ever done. I am really happy when I am giving of myself in this way. I think I have found what I was put on earth to do. That makes me VERY happy ------------------ Jesus never put his trust in man cuz he knew what was in man. You must face the dregs of Nessus to touch the love and beauty of Neptune. Me IP: Logged |

When you can look at yourself and feel happy. When you like & Love yourself. When you are your own friend. This condition is the key which unlocks happiness and so it permeates your life... what you touch with your hands and your heart... it opens doors, it gives you confidence. I felt happy even in a bad relationship. I loved who I was and who I am now. To me, that is happiness. I also like what AG said.
------------------ “It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. She's not just looking at it; she's interacting with it…I’m seeing how the act of relating to a flower appears to be so simple. Yet, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to make such a “simple” act important. Now, the lotus is floating away.” IP: Logged |

Make a conscious decision to remain in a state of appreciation and love. Produce thoughts of love and attract happiness and abundance. I find this to be constant in my spiritual quests throughout my twenties. With minimal effort of this principal I changed my life. With that said, I am happy, but would be happier if I were healthier

Hmmmmmm.....Think of life as an ocean. It is what it is. When all is calm, enjoy it all! When storms hit, ride it out! Fear not the ebb and flow, fear not the changes. Remember you are still you no matter what the ocean is doing. quote: What Is The Key/Secret To Happiness?
Well firstly I feel you must love yourself. Embrace your happiness no matter what family or friends or anyone thinks should make you happy. March to your own beat, dance to your soul song! Remember, you are your very own best friend! No one can take that away. Who is left even in the darkest times for you? You are! Embrace you!

what is your definition of "happy" - you may find there is a somewhat broad spectrum as each of us may have a slightly different perspective.... is there a difference for you between happy and content? btw, who mentioned cake? charm? two extra thumbs up for that one ------------------ If you pull it too tightly, the string will break. Ah, so many great responses. About regret, I have no regrets. I've made mistakes, and I could have made better choices, but things have always turned out for the best (as far as I can see), and I am who I am today due to my mistakes (and I love who I am).------------------ "Cooking is like love. Yeppers! Experience is a good teacher. And yeah, our choices often in retrospect could have been better, but in my experience, they were right at those times, and have led me to where I am now. Had I made different choices, well, I do not think I'd be disabled, but, I doubt I'd be alive either.
