What is your opinion on these 7 fashion statements? My opinions are: Fashion Statement #1: Baseball caps *bill in front guys and never in the house or restaurants. Fashion Statement #2: Earrings *it`s your ears but no earing bigger than mine. Fashion Statement #3: Bluetooth ear clip *never seen one so no comment Fashion Statement #4: Socks with sandals Fashion Statement #5: Ripped/distressed jeans *fine for kicking around in but not out with me please. Fashion Statement #6: Popped (or turned-up) shirt collars *I didn`t know that was in but it doesn`t matter if the shirt is clean Fashion Statement #7: Sports jerseys *oh no. If your shirt is louder than city billboards , as intellectually stimulating as paint drying, and shows armpits, change it. article and jury response to questions: http://yahoo.match.com/y/article.aspx?articleid=12201&TrackingID=526103&BannerID=709242

In my neck of the woods, if he showed up sporting that fashion, he`d be classified a city fella or had a foot injury with stitches . I`d ask if his foot was injured (that`d answer the first thought ) and if not simply tell him firmly you have to lose those socks dude. ------------------ ~The Earth Laughs In Flowers~ ... Fashion Statement #1: Baseball capsClassless. Get a fedora or a bowler/derby. However, having Venus in Sag, I don't mind them on sporty women. Fashion Statement #2: Earrings Not a huge fan. Guys (or girls) that get those ones that make gaping holes in their ears seem less intelligent to me, because that may just be a lifetime commitment. Fashion Statement #3: Bluetooth ear clip Disturbing. It's like a constant threat of not being heard. If I see those on someone I'm talking to I wonder if I'm going to be interupted. In conclusion, I think they should be taken off when not in use. Fashion Statement #4: Socks with sandals Nah. Fashion Statement #5: Ripped/distressed jeans Nah. I did love Lonake liking cargo pants, though. Fashion Statement #6: Popped (or turned-up) shirt collars I'm ok with this. This tells me the person has enough self-esteem to try to pull it off. Sometimes it's successful as a look. The Nautica zipper pullover I'm wearing right now has a naturally upturned collar (as a few of my pullovers do). I like it. Fashion Statement #7: Sports jerseys Armpit hairs shouldn't stick out of a hockey jersey. The Shark's black jersey is a-ok with me. IP: Logged |

I used to wear socks and sandals all the time. I do admit, it's not cool, but I made it cool for me. I was at a sports bar one night, and yeah, I was rocking out some crazy clothes, not the least of which was socks and sandals, and the bartender, Megan, told me I would never get a girlfriend wearing those. I pointed out that the band, Misfortune 500, were all wearing socks and sandals, and they were mobbed by groupies that would clearly fall under the "hot" category (I didn't say that part, but it was obvious). She had nothing else to say. But I no longer wear sandals (with or without socks), although my attire has gotten weirder, and I usually just stick with black Converse All Stars most of the time (but never with shorts, because they then look like clown shoes). Apparently, my Aquarius trumps my Cappy. And even though I can rock out just about anything (if done right), I do agree with a lot of the current fashion faux pas--like not wearing jean shorts, shorts above the knees (unless tennis shorts), wife beaters, and a myriad of other less serious violations. So, I do try to stay away from the glaringly obvious no nos, but I do take the trends to my level of extreme. I'm no Kris Angel (he can get away with all of the normally "loser" dress rules), but I'm cool in my own way, and when a guy wears black nailpolish and eyeliner (but clearly isn't emo or goth), then he can pretty much get away with wearing anything else and still look cool. But if emo or goth, well, then they have their own sets of rules. ------------------ "All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. hmmm....Fashion Statement #1: Baseball caps If I guy is wearing anything sports related, that's a turn off to me. The guys I date, don't watch sports. Only once did I make that mistake. There are way more stylish hats to wear, like AG said. One of my exes wore cool hats all the time and we would even dip into each others hat collections and share. LOL Fashion Statement #2: Earrings
they only look good on a few. in general no jewelry at all is best for men. Fashion Statement #3: Bluetooth ear clip I don't know anyone that's ever used one. Fashion Statement #4: Socks with sandals
only around the house Fashion Statement #5: Ripped/distressed jeans
depends on the rest of their style. Fashion Statement #6: Popped (or turned-up) shirt collars
No. They are usually jerks. Especially if it's a pink polo shirt. They are trying way too hard. Fashion Statement #7: Sports jerseys
see first response. Jerseys are worse than baseball hats.

I think most all adopt a certain out of fashion look with confidence that`s unique to "us"... but some are just too out there to be anything but a smack down to the eye ball ------------------ ~The Earth Laughs In Flowers~ ... Emerson IP: Logged |

this imbecilic parasite who almost seriously ruined my life, who was just an acquaintance who i let move into my flat just out of kindness (don't get me started, no no), that one wasn't either goth or emo, but he wore eye makeup and nail polish with something like that. i honestly don't care about guys wear makeup or not, but this one did this in the pretence that he was "in" and all cool (alternative), in fact it was to show off while concealing his enormous insecurity. he hang out with drags and sexually diverse people too, who were also in my circle of friends, but was obviously homophobic. sick! i would have just felt sorry for him if not for what he had done to ME. i like it when guys wear makeup just because it's their style, and have a natural attitude about it. well, that attitude makes everyone attractive. (eta: male makeup is not my turn-on though) oooOOH i bet Randall, you wear your flip-flops with that air of natural confidence... IP: Logged |

Pink polo shirt...that's interesting, because I did see a guy do that years ago, and he was exactly as you stated.Hmmm...my hat comment makes me realize that my style doesn't necessarily match what I'm ok with in a partner. With Venus in Sag I can be attracted to women much more casual than myself. IP: Logged |

AG, you were in a dream of mine last night. You lived nearby me and I was trying to drive up a hill where you were standiing, after finally having found your street (wish I could remember the name of it now...it began with an A) I couldnt get up it, so eventually you came down and we were chit chatting and saying how great it was to be neighbors. That's all i can remember. IP: Logged |

Baseball caps are a general term for a type of hat, and it doesn't have to be baseball or even sports-related at all. Some of these styles are geographical. For example, socks and sandals are in style in one state (Hawaii). And baseball caps of all types are hot here in the south. Especially with football teams; the national champions are just 30 mins from where I live. And there's always this feud betwen them and last year's national champs (Bama vs. Auburn). A lot of girls around here won't even date you if you like the opposing team from their choice. I don't care for any of the teams myself, but I do have a solid white GA Bulldog hat that I bought and wear backwards, because it just looks really good on me in contrast to my face (makes me look more tan). I'm shocked that so many girls watch sports nowadays. Last year was my first super bowl, and I must admit, I did enjoy seeing the underdogs demolish the odds, even though I didn't really know what the rules are. Good for New Orleans! Thry deserved it after all of the tragedy. They partied all night long after that victory...the whole city did. They were way behind and came back near the end and proceeded to stomp butt with a definitive win. It was exciting for me--but only because I was cheering for them due to everyone saying they had no chance. I love underdogs, and that's why I agreed to watch it. Would I wear their hat? Hellz to the yeah, if it looked good on me. It would have to match my pink boa. Haha! Pink is the new black. And I have some gaudy earrings that really pop. ------------------ "All deaths are suicides, do you realize that? Every single one. Pink is a power color with a tie. It also looks good with a light pink shirt. The Trump Collection has some great ones. Yeah, I clean up nicely. If it's good enough for a billionaire, it's good enough for a billionaire-to-be.IP: Logged |

Well, I'm only wearing one ring (my only jewelry at present), but I like wearing a ring. That's cool that we were neighbors in your dream. I think I'd like that. I was trying to find a thread with our fantasy house the other day. That's still an appealing daydream to me. I watched a great video today of a couple (not necessarily a romantically-linked couple) working on a huge, sprawling artwork. It was cool.
