My son who has not talked to me in years because he was p!ssed I did not attend his wedding (I had just had a stroke and could not travel)
Well seems in end of April his wife gave birth to a son.
So yikers! 
That makes me a grandmother!
I am so NOT into being such.
(oh dear me! Those crazy thoughts of running away to Fiji hitting again LOL!)
However he is a cute little fellow.
 Looks a bit like me as a kid LOL!

Well it just feels so surreal! 
Like whoa! Me a grandmother?!
Head spin.
My lover is younger than my son the new dad!!!!!!!!!!
I just cannot wrap my mind around "grandmother".
I do not want to be called that ever.
He can call me by my name.

Well my son (my only child) was my 13th. pregnancy and 13+ lost after I gave birth to him.
He had a bad heart and I spoiled him terribly. I was always there for him.
So he could not understand why I was unable to days after a stroke, that I simply could not do a 1,200 or so mile trip. Also his wife does not like me. She was extremely jealous of the close relationship he had with me.
Sigh 
So I do not know.
And if/when I immigrate to Europe, well doing the granny bit will not be feasible in any traditional way.
I have always sacrificed myself for others, but it is now my turn to give to myself.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S !!!!On both your beautiful grandson, and also on hearing from your son. I always think there's something about having a child of your own, to bring you closer to your parents. His wife may find that he stops listening to her quite as much now. If you do move to Europe, think of all the cool European presents you can send him - you'll always have an influence there, wherever you are geographically located. And yes, he does look a bit like you did as a child doesn't he - those gorgeous intense eyes! ------------------
