not a philosophy post but i am confused! i swear this was one of my boyfriends' favourite book. trouble is i broke up with him and left the area we lived in together well before 1974, which is apparently the copyright date!

does anyone else know of an earlier edition???? or am i mixing up boyfriends now?

very, lexx. though it is by and about a genius who went mad chasing an ideal...and who is into motorcycles (as the title suggests) so there are some very long involved and sometimes technical/philosophical passages...

if written in 74, it was about 67, by someone who was already 40ish then and perhaps a precursor of the 60s intellectually. but it is also a very human book. and perhaps more relevant today than then, like a good book should be!

and i came across it just as i was going through some of the dilemmas he is talking about, so extra good for me..
