Thank you! That's a relief.
You're very right about that.
That's true!

In my experience I learned a lot more out of school than in school (and when I was tested at 16 I was college level in everything but math while being normal for math, and I taught myself math better than teachers did), and once I dropped out of school and started unschooling I learned more in 2 years than in 10 years of schooling because I had so much more time to learn rather than wasting my time in school on dumbed down lesson plans and other time wasters. I also found out some of the many ways my schooling had lied to me as well.

IMO, schools (at least given how they operate in the USA) just get in the way of a good education, and I've heard that it's very rare for anyone educated outside of school to need to take "bone head courses" (ie, remedial classes) to get into college the way many high school graduates do. So let me validate your feelings (not that you need me to).

Mkey, here goes.

Hi, I'm Hera! ^_^ I've joined the site in October 2006 but maintained a rather low profile throughout the years (shy Cap rising ). In real life I am a surgeon of 29 years old living in Europe. I love my work, astrology, the theatre and the opera, learning new things and growing beyond my boundaries (let's hope only metaphorically speaking ), psychology and flirting hahaha . My biggest dream is to have a family of my own and lots and lots of babies lol ^_^ (Hera was the protector of families, I have the asteroid on my Ascendant and I identify with her quite a bit, minus the anger outbursts lol). I love to meet new people here! You can find me in Astrology for Beginners ^_^

Your post reminds me of the book, The Teenage Liberation Handbook: How to Drop Out of School and Get a Real Life.

I didn't realise I never posted in this new thread.

my name is Stephanie. 27, Leo. Cancer moon. Gem rising. I have studied Astrology since 2001. It does not play a central part in my life anymore though.
I am stay at home mum of three children, 4, nearly 2, and a nearly 1year old. I care for my grandparents and share the parenting role with my husband.
I have recently self published a book that I am way too chicken to share but I'm finding the courage to tell people about it beyond my immediate family and friends. I love to write and have become better at it since a few years ago. I am able to express what my mind wants to communicate as I have struggled with that for years but have also been shy to get help for that. I find my anthroposophy studies have helped me transform into the person I know I can be. I am a shy person in real life but as real as a person can be. I only have a few friends and not much family left. I keep to myself and enjoy caring for my grandparents. I love hanging out with the senior citizens.
What else? I have studied natural hygiene and would like to study naturopathy.
I can't think of much else to add for now. Trying to communicate a clear picture of myself in real life is hard but I tried.

For me, LL gave me a gift I could never repay. Randall and some dear friends put up with me when I was a horrible mess. He stood by me, even though most people would not. That is because he was born to be a mentor.
For me, I heard a voice at 3 AM tell me to study Astrology. I came to LL and could not get enough of it. Then, I started realizing that I was psychic.
My friends at LL encourage me to go forward with this gift and they gave me advice on how to do this.
I am really happy with my life, now. I am developing confidence, which I really needed.
I am able to give to people, which I love.
I feel as if I am a very blessed person.
LL will allow anyone to develop his gifts and his personality in a community of love, support and acceptance.
My hobbies are yoga, raw food and guitar.
