i am so sick and tired of seeing posts on FB or hearing people say "this is america, we say merry christmas not happy holidays...if you get offended by me saying merry christmas then go back to the country you came from" yatta yatta yattaamerica was founded on the first amendment, which is freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of press and FREEDOM OF RELIGION!!! we say happy holidays so we dont offend the people who dont celibrate christmas because america is the place where all religions are practiced freely...we have churches for all religions america does not have one, singular religion...the pilgrams came to america so they could practice their religion without persecution, and the bill of rights still stands today...so people who worship in synogogues or cathedrals or churches, go and worship!! i dont care!! i'm gonna say happy holidays for those who dont celibrate christmas!!! so, merry christmas, happy hanukkah, happy winter solstice, happy kwanzaa, and well, happy holidays!! ------------------ I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

I say both of them, and honestly, I'm tired of hearing people protest against those who just want to use Merry Christmas. Say what you want to, people. If you're offended by Merry Christmas, when people are just trying to be nice, then that's your problem. I don't see anyone protesting against the traditions of other religions; can I say that without getting jumped on, and without this being shifted to global unity? because I'm not even a Christian. And I wasn't talking to NickiG when I said that: that's for anyone who is actually offended when people are just trying to be nice.My Christmas is messed up, I'm very depressed, and this Aries is tired of it all. And that goes for anyone INSISTING on *only* saying Merry Christmas, too, actually. Just get off it already, and stop telling people to go back to their own country, when this country is made up of all sorts. Over and out. IP: Logged |

teasel{{{hugs}}} Yes, I say usually, Season's Greetings, Happy Holidays, Happy Yuletide, And Happy Solstice. Or.... ignore it for the most part. At least the food stamps came so we can have a holiday feast and not have to go to the soup kitchen or eat beans and rice. And if charity will pay the electric as they said, then that is a good enough Holiday Season.

I'm not big on the holidays but think it's nice when people wish you a happy one. They are just being nice and saying it how they would like it said to them. I usually wish them the same back and smile and continue on. No need to get offended at someone being nice, even if they wished you something stemming from their own religion or in their own words. It's the thought behind it that counts. Hope that made sense. I'm really tired right now. lol IP: Logged |

It was soooo simple back when. It is whats in my heart "Merry Christmas" to friends, family and those I interact with . A generic "happy holidays" to the folks I wish well that I don`t know. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

That's me to a, well, 'T'. And I think those who are so easily offended they have Issues. I would still smile back and say "Oh, how bad of me I dared offer a heartfelt wish for you! I promise I won't do it again!" Still smiling, turn your back and keep walking. Merry Xmas, Happy New Year, happy holidays, and best wishes, Everyone! IP: Logged |

"Merry Xmas, Happy New Year, happy holidays, and best wishes, Everyone!" I have always wondered why the X replaces Christ in Christmas & one is left with "mas".. what the heck does mas mean?? When I see it, I always give the person respect and think they are wishing me all of lifes rewards and joys...... So Merry Mas all ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

does this person know that a lot of other religions celebrate other things around the same time, and Christians don't rule this season all alone? it's not about "offending Christians", it's about paying attention that the world isn't only populated with Christians? yikes!IP: Logged |
