Yeah gonna b!tch The fucqking water company turned off our water. We may be without water for weeks until we can come up with like $500 to get their fucqking meter replaced and then wait until god knows when for them to get around to installing it and turned back on. We made a deal that it would be done end of January. They agreed. But now after we verified that agreement like 5 times...... they came out and turfed our yard, damaged our big tree, and fucqking shut off our water. So cannot flush toilet or bathe or cook or anything until we fix everything to the tune of some $500 we do not have yet. Fucqkers. Damn them all to hell. What kind of azsholes turn off the water in winter to a poverty level home with a disabled person? Without warning! After we had made the agreement they now clam they know nothing about! We think they threw out our agreement maliciously because we reported them to the PUCO. I am beyond upset here. PS. Will the gas hot water heater explode because it is empty? ------------------ ~The present time is theirs, but the future is mine.~Никола Тесла ~I remember, therefore I am immortal~LEXX }><}}}(*>~♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥~ IP: Logged |

We are not late on the bill. They shut us off because they want to replace the meter and wanted us to pay to have the shut of valves and plumbing to it replaced before they would do their mandatory water meter replacement. We told them some 5 times that we could not pay a plumber until end of this month. They agreed with us and said let us know when you have hired the plumber. Then they go and do this crap to us. They said they take care of everything up to and including their meter, but then told us we had to replace the shut off valve on their side. That made no sense at all. They said they do not replace it unless it leaks, but demanded we pay to have it replaced. The thing is, it does leak when pressure is on normal, but does not leak at 1/2 pressure which is why they claim it does not leak. Anything to shaft us. We even pay their water protection line insurance yet they refuse to fix things. Well in the morning we will go to Community Action and call around and see what can be done. What p!sses me off is that things were going to be fixed before end of month, borrowing money from my ex's mom to pay back when tax return comes back. I want to cry. I am so upset. Yes, no matter the reason for a shut off, I think what they have done is illegal. The stress from this is awful. We are in poverty.... what the hell....we got to go buy bottled water to flush the toilet etc. Like with what money you sick fuqk creeps? Sorry.... informed no water here for possibly weeks to a month. That just sounds illegal. I am disabled, this is also a health and safety issue.

Umm, okay I dunno if this helps...About 15 yrs ago, I was a lil kid but we used to live in this apartment building with a hell lot of water trouble. There was no 24x7 water supply. You'd only get water once a day for approximately 1-1.5 hrs. My dad brought this huge tub nearly 250 litres that he used to fill up ad we used up that water. Now your supply is already cut off but do you have any helpful neighbours from whom you could get some water? I've never really lived through water shortage(I was still a kid and my dad handled the whole thing) and I don't know first thing about poverty but if you could get like two buckets of water from the neighbours, you know, it might help. ------------------ Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways. ♥ IP: Logged |

No real idea. Go around grovelling to the community action agency? Then if no luck, me disabled and all, feeling bad as is, would use the phone/internet payment money (risk losing phone and internet) to buy plumbing parts and tools and hope to god I know what the hell to do and can do it........... This is cruel, insane....... I should not be forced to crawl down my basement stairs (being disabled that is what I do) and try and attempt to do professional plumbing work on steel and bronze lines/valves. I have done plastic but never steel and all. I am fraking freaking terrified and very frazzed bummed out.IP: Logged |

Frozen Queen No, no neighbors. All are landlords jealous because they want this place as another rental. We do have a friend a few blocks away who will help. This sucks though. If we get snowed in again we are fuqked. Sorry, I am not coping well here. Just took buckets outside to catch the melt coming off the roof and will use water going into an 18 gallon tub catching rain from the 3 foot hole in the roof, to flush the toilet. wahhhhhhhhhhhh.

That sucks Re: heater: Turn off the breaker. It should have its own dedicated one. We bought a vacant house that we were told had been winterized by the bank. It hadn't. This caused all sorts of problems - mostly about 10,000 leaks. When we turned off the water to fix the main line, we didn't turn off the gas hot water heater. The heating elements burned up and fractured/exploded. Re: What can be done: Are there any community agencies or groups likely to help? The water company may have acted in violation of local ordinances and regulations, and such a group would likely know the letter of how they are to be enforced...especially if the water company is in the habit of counteracting stated agreements. Edited to add: I hadn't read all of your posts before replying - I was in such a rush to send out that you should flip that breaker...replacing the elements would be another $50-$75 (if you did them yourself). I'm glad that you're going to pursue it further today/tomorrow, even with how difficult it will be for you. ------------------ If I've included this sig, it's because I'm posting from a mobile device. Thank you my dear Pire Was about to update but have been very ill lack of sleep...... and worried. The borrowed money we needed came in mail yesterday evening. We knew it would be here any day after MLK day, and so there it was! Whilst I was barfing and all, my ex2b miraculously found and got an emergency plumber lined up. In fact they just got here a few minutes ago and are working on it now. If all goes well, we will have water back tomorrow. Then we will fight to be reimbursed for $$$ work the water company should have done for free under the terms of our water line protection plan with them. Most likely will have to fight the $$ reconnection fee and the fact that they seriously turfed our front yard, and may have damaged/killed our huge old tree. So on that note; am going to try and chill, eat some yougurt and try to get rid of my nausea and take my meds for pain relief. Bless you dear Pire. {{{hugs}}} Your kind and generous offer is deeply appreciated sweet Pire. but we lucked out with the borrowed money coming by mail yesterday late. Then finding miraculously a plumber on hours notice! The water company saying tomorrow instead of weeks or more to replace their meter and turn water back on. I wonder if my complaint claim filed against the water company may have hit their headquarters and that is why they are coming tomorrow rather than the original 2 to 4 weeks from now? IP: Logged |

Hopefully the blizzard does not make the water company cancel their repairs tomorrow and make us wait for our water to be turned back on. Please wish us good luck please folks. And again thank you all for your kindness. IP: Logged |

well I am glad you found a way through. you musrt know it is offered without any "string" whatsoever. unfortunately I could not have done better at this time. but I would have expected that people around here would have followed. I am sorry you are struggling. but I am also relieved you don't want to give in to the "landlord neighboors". your house can be rebuilt. it is not a big matter. at some point, you'll have to start asking companies their prices. I am very busy at work those days, probably for the next 2 months. but sooner or later I will get in touch with you probably through facebook. peace and love IP: Logged |
