10-20 years, even 25 years maybe, is just fine by me. Much further beyond that, I don't see what you'd have in common, but I do think that it could work for some couples and I'm not opposed to it--again, provided that both people are consenting, and that it's an honest relationship. Cary Grant and his last wife were over 40 years apart and apparently were happy together.

and besides I think boys my age are TOO young and immature for me. Even if a guy is 6months younger, he is younger and I cannot date him. My relationship history so far

BF 1 4yr older Aries ( I was 16)
BF 2 6yr older Taurus (i was 19)
BF 3 8year older Libra (I was 24)

With the time I'm growing older, I'm more and more into more older men.

And I hate being reminded that I'm an older woman. Someone recently called a thirty-year-old actress 'old'. That made my jaw drop, thinking, "Old?? She's younger than me!"

I must admit that carl's thread makes me feel a bit better, though. I'm tired of it being acceptable for much older men to hit on younger women, but women are considered creepy and desperate when they do the same.

I think the Cancer-Capricorn axis is connected to age differences.
Any personal planet in Cancer or Capricorn can make a person likely to date outside their generation.. (either younger or older). Mercury included!

And I found an actress born on my birthday (2/4/86) - who has the same Mars/Neptune conj in Capricorn.. and who was married to a man 20 yrs older. It's interesting since the love of my life is 19 yrs older than me. We are close friends but can't be together romantically.

Honestly, there are some older women who look a LOT better than a lot of 20-somethings that I see.

A lot of younger women, at least around here, look so outright sloppy. Pajamas in public, flip flips, scrubs in public (not at a medical facility), workout clothes in public (while not working out), ripped/stained clothes, "distressed" clothes, baggy clothes, badly dyed hair, camo (not in the military), etc. Granted, older women (not all, but a fair number) tend to have more money than younger women, as they have better-paying jobs (or else have higher-earning partners, in the case of stay-at-home women), so they can buy nicer things, but still, you can look at least decent on a budget. True, sometimes it's like looking for diamonds in dung heaps when shopping with little money, but the diamonds ARE there, if you're resourceful and patient. To me, it's better to own fewer clothes that look nice than tons of clothes that do not.

I'm not saying that all older women look better, but some tend to be more polished, sophisticated, and put-together. There are some that let themselves go, which is sad, but there are others who were never told that older = automatically uglier. "Polished" is what looks nice in my opinion. There's one lady at my church that is an example of what I'm hoping for when I get older. As far as I know, she hasn't had work done--if she has, it was done well. She always wears the most fabulous shoes (I envy her in a sort of good-natured way), has longer hair (which is well-maintained), and wears things that flatter her. She's probably, if I had to guess, in her 50s or 60s (I tend to guess people younger than they are, so she could be older). She's a great example of how to look great as you age.

To me, age does not mean that you have to be hideous or that ugliness is inevitable. It's a different kind of beauty, to be sure, but there are some older people that I think look just as good--and in some cases, even better--in their later years.

It bothers me that people think "old" and automatically think "ew" or "ugly". It can be that way, but it doesn't have to be that way.

I'm 40 and if I weren't married I couldn't imagine dating someone younger than 35. I've always liked men older than I am. I think the only time I dated someone younger was when I was 21 and I dated someone 18 for a short while.
