Good tips there! But working out is only part of the equation. You also need the right diet an overall healthy lifestyle. During my time with the armed forces, having meals and training were a routine that I could easy follow and keep up with on a daily basis so it was easy for me to maintain a more muscular build. After I went on with jobs with the private sector, I started skipping meals on a daily basis. It didn't become any easier as I climbed up the ranks to management level jobs where I started cashing cheques my body couldn't cash by taking on huge volumes of projects on. I was a skinny guy to boot and it didn't look too good with my given height. Soon enough, I started developing a mild case of hypoglycemia and ended up getting faint incidences; One of them with me ending up right in my wife's lap . It was embarrassing to say the least. It was however the wakeup call that I needed. I started to cut back on work related projects and started working out and followed a high caloric diet like a military drill. And I have to say... The results were spectacular . I love my new look, my wife loves it , and I feel like me again . I hated being a twig... Its just not me. IP: Logged |

^ Yeah that's commendable!I was laughing, looking at these exercise demo pictures AD. I don't need weights, I have children that I carry. Stuff to pick up off the floor. Laundry to haul, vacuum to push. Almost like the Karate Kid getting in shape.

I just enrolled to boxing class for 7 mos today. I think there are muay Thai classes too 4x a week. So it's weights in the morning and boxing at night for me. I'm gonna take a hiatus from astro for the rest of the year when I get my routine going. I get distracted here every morning lol! It's weird but as a taurus i find I need to have good gear to keep me from getting bored. The new balance minimums just came in to my country, was trying to buy my company colors blue and yellow but I found better looking grey ones. My feet kinda hurt today from running with them around cobbled streets but I hear they take awhile to get used to.. Super comfy tho inside. Ugh that's horrible Venus, I hope u r fine tho! Xodian, when did u get married? wow, congrats! I had no clue! Wanted to ask you guys how do you keep your motivation? For me that's a real bummer. Mars opposite Saturn for sure because otherwise I love working out and pushing until total exertion (Mars opp Pluto). But sometimes it's diff in the first 3-4 weeks to keep doing it and I need something to push me to continue through it despite laziness or fatigue or whatever lame excuse I can find. Coming out of my struggle with depression, a work-out regime is everything I need but I can't find the right motivation to do so. Once I do and pass a month or so I'm sure I'll do alright because I like being active and sporty. Ugh. So, what does it for you guys?

@Hera; motivation-wise, I just love being active. It's not very fun just sitting at home doing nothing. Plus I want to stay lean and beautiful, not get hefty...IP: Logged |

I suppose I'm lucky on this with having so many Sag influences (especially Mars). Growing up physically active in Texas heat (sometimes without AC) also made me think of sweaty as the normal human condition. But one thing is recalling the "runner's high." It's where I've exercised so long that I get a buzz from it and it feels really good. It's actually addictive, IMO, and I can start jonesing for it if I go too long without enough exercise. A really nice treat, IMO, is spending an hour in the sauna (beginners shouldn't try for this amount of time unless the temperature is low). Being worn out from exercise makes it that much better, IMO. That is I turn the temp all the way up and sit there for 10-20 minutes (sometimes pouring a little water with eucalyptus in it on the pan above the heat adds spice, though I always ask permission first if anyone else is in there--it's supposed to be good for allergies, btw) and then take a cold shower. When the cold water hits I sometimes have to fight from crying out loud (and have failed a few times) as it's so jarring but it quickly turns to pleasure, one that rivals sex, and it makes me feel so alive and in the moment. And then I repeat for that hour (and even longer). After the last time I take a normal shower of course and leave. IP: Logged |

when my motivation was just to lose some weight i would never commit too..but now its different it dawned at me that im at the peak of my productivity and health. im 22 and if i dont make use of my energy and strength now it would have gone to waste.. no one knows what will happen in the future so ima take my current advantage and keep myself fit as long as i can.. as my fav man sings "I got too much life running through my veins going to waste.." hows that for motivation?! i get a high too after working out i also love feeling sore the next day reminds me that i did a good job IP: Logged |
