I would reduce my dependencies on the internet.

But, I wouldn't completely remove myself from using the web.

It would be tough for me because its the only way for me to get reliable and up to date information.

For example any tourist that comes to Ottawa will realize that the printed bus and transit schedules are out of date, the transit committee hasn't gotten around to updating all the schedules and routes because of the inefficient and bureaucratizes.

But, there are some things you can figure out without having the web.

You can get a copy of printed street maps instead of using Google maps, as long as its not a new development area ie new home construction.

Besides the internet was originally designed to be the only method of communication that could withstand a nuclear war.

I doubt the web would be able to survive that now.

Anyway, Props for trying to live without the internet for a week.

Maybe Randall should give you a lindaland without the internet award.

Hi, Ben!

It's just an experiment, I am testing myself. That is all. I rely on it for a lot of things too, I need it for my work as well and there's pretty much nothing you can't find online..
I'll be back in no time.

Last day heehee Idk but feel excited for the opportunity to test my boundaries.

If this is successful I might consider a week without my cellphone or electricity.. maybe just for my fridge lol, it's summer here. And I'm sure I could think of others. But, first things first.

My 3 weeks without the internet start in 2 days...I'm heading north to visit my grandma, she doesn't care for computers, gonna be tough...Cellphone internet p***es me off, so I won't be using that...But it's a nice little village, great for photography, that'll be my main activity there, so I should be fine...As for no internet outside vacation time, I don't think I can pull that off anymore, once you're in, the internet just won't let you go...damn you internet!

Hera, thank you!

I've decided to cut out the boob tube altogether. I lived without it for so many years and while it's nice to have for downtime....it's just another distraction, so I'm done with it.

I will have to keep internet, but won't be on it much for awhile, with all the stuff i have to do over the next couple of weeks.

Enjoy your time off!

Since I am so into astrology, researching topics important to me (like psychology and new books), and communicating with a pen pal I have a hard time staying off my Mac for more than 4-5 days. ;A;

I'm much better with TV. I have gone days and days without even watching the news. I maybe watch TV less than 3 hours weekly.
