Heh. I did spend a lot of time keeping the cat comforted as she always freaks out over the fireworks. Someone parked on the sidewalk and knocked our trashcan into the street without bothering to pick it up (luckily the trash had already been picked up by then). Given how it was parked on the friggin sidewalk AND another vehicle parked right in front of it (at least they were parked correctly) was surrounded by men drinking and talking in slurred words it wasn't hard to figure out they'd been doing some drinking. I was peeved about my trashcan in the street but I was far more angry about them driving drunk. In retrospect I should've called the cops on 'em just in case they could do anything to make sure they didn't get on the road again (and I wouldn't care if they spent their Independence Day in the drunk tank, either) but it didn't occur to me to do that then.
