I just finished reading this book! This is not something that I'd usually read. But i really liked it! It was nicely written enough.
Although $14! for a book man i hate that! I just got the Vampire Lestat book and the small print is gonna kill my eyes!

Anyway any thoughts and opinions on this book and movie? I'm gonna watch the movie probably tonight. I'm not too enthused with Tom Cruise being Lestat though hopefully it will be good!

Lol awesome!! Iam so glad you liked it. Its an epic and all time amazing movie. Tom cruise was so cool, his best acting of all time... But for me i liked brad pitt as louis... Antonio banderas was good too. Its fun to go back and watch the movie and realize what a hot bed of stars it supported.

Love that they all had long hair. Tom had a bad blonde wig tho. Antonio banderas' character was supposed to be a little boy.

I liked it when I read it at 16. But I thought The Vampire Lestat & Queen of the Damned (pretty much one book, IMO) that come after it were so much better and I read both of those books in like a single week, IIRC as I was so enthralled.

But then I don't know what happened. I tried to keep up with the series but I just couldn't get into any of the books that came after. It was as if all the magic went away and I gave up on it. I tried other Anne Rice books with about the same effect, though I did momentarily get enthralled with a book she did about witches. So, just my opinion, she's a "3 hit wonder" in my book. But whoa, that original vampire trilogy was awesome.

Same here.
I loved "Interview with a Vampire", "the vampire Lestat" and "Queen of the Damned" and tried reading others of her again and again and again. But the magic`s simply lost.
