There`s a new program on National Geographic channel called Dooms Day Preppers. It`s about the life of Americans preparing for the end of life in America as we know it. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/doomsday-preppers/ Doomsday could be eating cake out of a boxed mix.... ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

Pretty scary. That sheriff in Ca. told people to get guns, lock their doors and defend their property. I hate guns. I tried to go to a shooting range to learn. I hate everything about guns, but maybe I am wrong not to learn how to shoot *sigh*------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Shotguns are good because you only need to aim in the general direction. but they have a lot of kickback. i used to have one of these http://www.mossberg.com/products/shotguns/pump-action/mossberg-590-special-purpose IP: Logged |

Nothing major will happen on the 21st. But like people expect bad things on Friday the 13th, some local calamities may ensue.------------------ "Fall down 100 times, get up 101...this is success." --ME IP: Logged |

I have shot one before. You just have to hold really tight when you shoot. Right? ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I'm watching an episode of Conspiracy Theory right now that talks about all that I posted. The government has underground cities to protect all of them. It's about 2012. But forget that. March is the actual date. That's when the solar blast hits us. The last time one of this magnitude hurled toward us was 152 years ago. Our magnetic field blocked most of it, and it mainly affected telegraphs. But two things are different this time around. One is that we are now dependent upon the power grid. And the other thing is that the shields are down, Scotty. IP: Logged |

Its past 8.00 P.M. here and we are alive too. and in Japan it must be already 22/12. So lets celebrate our birth-day. Since all of us are born today. IP: Logged |

What do you mean by "the shields are down"? ^^ The magnetic field? - most of us would be dead by now if it was... ^^ it can get weaker if Earth's rotation slows down or in the interior liquid of our planet gets solid - but for now we're ok. ^^ As for underground cities or bunkers - there are such constructions all over the world - some secret, some private, others public... And yes, some of them have something to do with conspiracies - as in "fear of conspiracies" - the events from Nagasaki and Hiroshima indulged the idea of this type of constructions "just in case". It's not like they have the space to host the human population... or even 1% of it - so, there's no point in worrying about that "it's just normal human behavior"... You could try to build a bunker... if that helps you sleep better at night (mainly - that's what it's about) there's still time. ^^ If this was related to some meteor - would make more sense, as for a super solar storm - that won't endanger our existence... People will die cause of it (technology related) - I'm aware of that and times will be really hard for some time... but "things like this happen" - they happened before and will happen again... It's foolish to believe that somehow we can avoid such events... yet ignorance is bliss - and it's better that way - better than to live in fear of what might happen...since there are to many apocalyptic variables. Out satellites found some huge holes in the field. It would be a long shot, but a direct hit would take down the power grid, and that would be really bad, because it is so vulnerable and interconnected, and electricity cleans and pumps water. It would be a massive fail, and it could take 5 to 7 years to repair. All theyu have to do is ground it, but the politics prevent the simplicity of that (many different state, local, and private intrerests involved). People don't think about how crucial water is until they have none. You need two quarts a day--although you can survive on only one--but you will slowly dehydrate. With zero water, you die in three days. ------------------ "Fall down 100 times, get up 101...this is success." --ME IP: Logged |

I'm aware of the possible outcomes of such event - already mentioned about it before and was aware of it for some time. Mishio Kaku mentioned about it several times - what it can do and how to deal with it as a precaution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPdqr2v1rTQ - which could lower the damage considerably... The governments of the world were noticed, but that's just "one" of thousands of other bills they're suppose to deal with and can't say for sure if they did anything about it. Once again history might repeat itself and instead of taking precautions in time, they'll end-up dealing with it "after the damage is done" - damage which implies trillions of $... wile the solution meant as precautions costs around 100 million $... Official tend to be "very practical/pragmatic" in this type of situations - they expect clear evidence of such event happening and the exact time when it will take place - and only then, they would consider this a priority... since the funds are limited and they're suppose to make a choice... So, maybe the ones who have the power don't consider a priority right now... this being a money issues - it's not just government related, since - we also have some rich individuals who can cover those costs.
