I wish I could say I liked it, but I didn't... I can't even say I enjoyed the majority of it. I was disappointed, found it incredibly anticlimactic. They are so determined to draw things out this season and the finale was the straw that broke the camel's back far as my patience goes! It's like, I see where they are going with it, and even though the direction allows them to fill in the gaps that they missed within the actual comic prison storyline/arc, I know I have not and will not enjoy the trip to reach that final destination for it (prison arc)... I'll still try watching the 4th season, but I don't feel as eager (not at all). After closing out the 2nd season with such a dramatic and beautiful way for everyone, to just drop the ball with a weak cliffhanger only irritates cinema fanatics like me!
lol
I do see the possibilities here though... now they can finally get back to character development within the remaining original cast, they can have the events take place that they completely skipped or skimmed through in order to focus on Woodsbury and their Governor like they did, and they will (god willing) have more tension and action (especially the action) next season. But, the folks they have added to the prison group this way doesn't promise too much for additions beyond those present. If they do fill in the gaps the children of the group now and Herchel's brood will have a fair amount of (sad) screen time (if they do this, I mean). lol
teasel, me too! I don't know why they all made such a *bad thing* out of it (Herch made a big deal, and the poll question). The kid has shown more common sense than a lot of the grown ups in the last season. If Ben was going to comply he would have dropped the gun when he was told by Carl. He did not comply, and no sane trained guard/officer (law/military) would have taken the chance with an offensive attack against them happening at the same time. I know I wouldn't have either.
My mother actually predicted the ending... so bummed out cause we had a bet going on! grrr! She got it though, she called 3/4 events correctly (the gov's people's actions, the gov's actions on the road, and where he *eventually* went *besidescompleteycrazyImean*) - I was praying against all odds that they would have given us one of two more exciting endings...
-and we both didn't get our wish/bet for his demise. (Mom really wants Michonne to take him down! lol)
-ugh! I feel disgusted with this season. They had maybe 2 decent episodes - maybe... and they had 3 really good scenes (exciting/heart wrenching) - which doesn't say much, cause they only give the actor those scenes when they are going to kill them off the show!
>.<;
fwiw - my favourite scene this season was probably the scene with Maggie walking out of the prison with baby Judith. Next to that would have been the entire scene(s) with Merle from him sitting in the car drinking his whiskey to Daryl's collapse upon finding him zombified. ~ I also felt that although short, and not necessarily a "stand out" scene per se- the moment that Michonne discovered Penny bagged and caged, without knowing what she was... that was a very well shot scene. (cinima fanatic~ horror fanatic... I guess I just expected more from them, not just this season, but since they started... they were original, ground breaking... the first true thriller night time drama/soap - the first serious one *barring Dark Shadows.) All those supernatural shows are fantasy - wimpy love/smut stories... TWD - was so fresh and emotional and almost realistic; well performed, well scripted, well filmed ---- and then this season... man, this season... that finale... >.<#) I can't be the only one who felt it was severely lacking... /smh
after season 1 and 2... expecting something a little better than "decent"... and this was "decent" - which is disappointing in my book.
