what was the first concert you saw?

Rancid just came up on a Classic Alternative station I'm listening to. It reminded me that they were the first (real) concert I saw (i mean, w/o my mother, who brought me to a Linda Ronstadt concert when I was way younger, and I fell asleep during it (she was p!ssed = what a waste of a ticket! - really her date didnt show up, so I went with her to fill the seat and so she didnt have to go alone) - though I do like Ronstadt now )

First concert was Rancid before they blew up. The ticket was $7. I went with three girlfriends of mine. Later on I took my brother to his first concert, which was also a Rancid concert (been to 3 of them in all), I think the tickets were $12 a piece at that point....they started to become more popular.

I remember my brother lost one of his shoes in a mosh pit. He's a Saggie and didnt care. I'm a Taurus and so of course had to at least look for it when the concert was over. LOL Remember him walking around the city the rest of the night with one shoe, thinking he was all cool (his first mosh pit mishap LOL).

Afterwards we took the subway and/or walked around to local Boston bars and had a good time (with our fake ID's). Those were the days. Everything was so much easier then.

sorry, going down memory lane...because of that song.

I had a music teacher in elementary school that had us watch a concert video of New Kids on the Block.....i don't remember why. (was that educational somehow? I don't know, i just remember having to sit through it)

I was also in chorus, which she led. In music class, if we werent singing patriotic songs or playing the plasic "recorder" (similar to a flute, which I didnt have enough money to get one, or participate in that part of it) we were watching random concerts and shows she recorded for us to watch.

Years later, I had a cool music teacher who had us paint murals on the wall of the Beatles, Hendrix, Rush (his favorite) and Joplin. Now, he was a cool dude.

I was going off them, but mum and dad won tickets for me as an early birthday present, so I didn't have the heart to tell them. I was fifteen, and we'd moved to California just months before. They were awful, unfortunately. When I could hear them over all of the screaming (we were in bad seats, too). Our family friend, Becky (who I now talk to on FB), enjoyed it, although I was so shy, I think I ruined it for her in some respects.

Me, too! Well unless you count seeing Donnie and Marie Osmond with my family when I was like four. I don't count that even though I shook Donnie's hand.

But after NKOTB, they were all much better concerts....in high school I went to see Depeche Mode, Tori Amos, Four Non-Blondes...and some others I know I'm forgetting.
