A friend of mine (fellow animal lover) across the pond, sent me an ecard for my birthday that he donated money to get and had sent to me. I think that is the greatest gift/card ever. You don't waste paper or postage = trees/money on some kind of Hallmark type card. BTW, I think the artists for the big corporate card compainies get paid **** and as is common in this day and age (in the Arts), are not appreciated for their craft - AT ALL. It's a slap in the face to artists of all kinds, everywhere and I would never want to sell my soul to them or take a job from them. The few bucks you would have spent to get some cheesy paper card, instead go to something greater and better - instantly!Point of this thread is to scour the web to find more sites like this - where you can actually send a card and !00% of the proceeds will go to the animal or child (or whatever floats your boat) group. Let's make a collection of them.
Since so many of us have friends and loved ones in different parts of the world, instead of buying some dumb card and paying postage to send it to them and it eventually getting tucked away and forgotten about......it might be better to seek out charities and groups like this on the web and spend that money a little more wisely.
I thought it was the greatest card I'd ever received, knowing it went to an abused animal rescue group. A lot of time and money was not wasted to send me a birthday greeting and instead put to be way better use.
I'd like this thread to be a compilation of options we have out there like this, that we may never have known were out there or thought of. Better, more helpful options, than the norm and how we've gone about things forever. Who would rather receive an ecard in which you knew the proceeds went to a charity rather than a coorporation (who paid artists crap, to boot? ) ? Me.
Let's compile a huge list of options and make a difference.

**ETA -- btw, I am not talking about those sites that say:
Click here and by doing so, you will have sent two grains of rice to a starving child in Ethiopia, or saved a whole acre of rainforest or a whale or something (just by a click?? hmmm....noooo. I am suspicious about those ones.
Just to be clear. We are talking about great organizations that donate all you contribute to their cause and let the recipient know where it went.
We want the best of the best here. Groups that are doing the most good and don't - or might not get enough recognition.
