Either something homemade (I can be sentimental that way) or something that won't clutter up the place for years to come (like say a box of chocolates which you eat & share and then recycle or trash). That's been my answer for what I want for Christmas for a couple of years now. Though some gag gifts or subtly brilliant gifts that commemorate memories can also work.

I have that on my FB page, too, and it was what I really wanted.

We ended up having a great day and night, although I was wrapping presents in the morning. We were like we used to be. My sister wasn't there, and she still loathes me, but it was good with my parents.

They bought me a camera, so I've been panicking that Dad spent too much, even though it's a basic DSLR (starter), he couldn't really afford it. It turns out when I was telling him he didn't need to get me anything "big" on Christmas Eve, he'd already bought it, and sneaked it out of the store, telling me that I should check out a store further down, whilst he got the credit for mum's present sorted out. I had just been happy that she was getting her present, I just wanted my family alert and together.
