What kind of music?I played Saxophone in grade school. Guitar all my life, but mostly to accompany myself in Singing. I Love to Sing! Played around with a Mandolin, learned that the tuning is the same for Banjo, Violin & Mandolin. The sound of a Mandolin just sends me... When I was trying to find out about my family's lineage in Masonic, Shriner & Scottish Rite, I found not only Masonic Records, but pictures of an old Hammered Dulcimer that they purchased on the boat that brought them from County Down to America. We still have it in my family. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWmroX2i1rw My Great-Grandfather taught himself to play Violin.

Wow, violin and saxo; that's great. I can play some guitar. I even wrote a song for a crush at one point.
I'd loooove to learn the drums, though! Must be awesome, but needs good body coordination, heh.

That's cool. I like it when people can play an instrument. A long time ago I took a few piano lessons. I don't have a piano. And i don't have time at the mo to practice. So the answer is no I do not play an instrument. Buth I certainly dream about it....and in my dreams I sing beautifully to... .IP: Logged |

"The Human Voice" is the most beautiful instrument!... errrr, as long as there's 'talent' and potential behind it! Taught myself how to play (classical) piano while I was a teen.... Took a musicality test at university and they rated me as an Intermediate Level student-- but I didn't know anything about how to practice basic scales. (That was a funny story I passed along under a different topic here at LLC2.0) Taught myself how to play guitar (chords only) -- way too bashful to play and sing in front of people. (Any kind!) Okay, once I sang for a boyfriend and I made him cry (~heh, was good enough for him awwww) (Folk songs, 70s era)... (My voice fits well with stringed acoustic type instruments.) Music, playing music while I'm alone, has soothed me and kept me literally alive in the past. Music is Etheric Food and nurture for my Soul. IP: Logged |

Guitar and piano. I dabbled in violin, harp and flute as a kid - violin is harder than guitar, Randall! I sing and used to write and arrange music but got tired of the controlling behaviour of record companies and producers, so only for private pleasure now.IP: Logged |

Yes, violin is much harder. I think guitar is easier than piano, too, but my guitar teacher says it is one of the harder instruments. I don't see it but that is his opinion, I guess. ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I don't think so at all, Randall. I have played since I was a little girl. The violin seems like you have so much more to do than a piano. I have always been in awe of people playing the violin. ------------------ Want To Ask Any Question About Bible Prophecy? Go For it. It is Free, of course. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Now you can do it all on your own...if you know how. I know how, but I still haven't tried yet. I'm overly perfectionist, and as I'm the one doing all the composing and recording, it takes a fair amount of time. Basically, the steps I'll take if I ever have an album-worth of music together is: 1. Register with BMI or ASCAP or some other music royalty tracker. You get to register as both the songwriter and publisher. It's more costly, but there are also more potential royalties. 2. Go to Create Space to work out your CD and MP3 distribution on Amazon. It's essentially free to you to set-up. You send in your music and artwork, and then you and they sell it for prices you determine. They have some absolute costs per disc, which you would take into account when setting your price, but you don't pay anything up front except for maybe your proof copy ($5 + shipping). 3. Suggest your music to Pandora (the requirement is that you have a physical CD available on Amazon last I checked). Add your own music to your Pandora station (if they ever accept it). 4. Promote. I haven't checked out Spotify very much, but that might also be a good venue to get your music on as they are currently trying to take over internet radio, and the audience is international. No record company is required...particularly if you don't care whether your music becomes popular or not. IP: Logged |

It wouldn't have a chance of being stolen that way?Seems like if you put it up anywhere or anyway on the computer it would have that potential. Fine line between promotion and loss, I would think in this computer day and age. IP: Logged |
