I have often found myself in Higher Realms through the effect that Musick has on me, and I thought I might share some of it with you.

I found it very hard to fit this into a category on LindaLand; Forgotten Melodies, I suppose would be a good one, ha.

What Musick have you found to be Transformational in your Journey?

Here is one that I have been thinking of lately:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xz_VJgvjCKU

That is the whole thing.

Here is a one of the best songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99jLQFgKR3o

and the Lyrics.

Mighty Echoes
(Eloy)

Just take a pebble and cast it to the silent sea,
What does happen?
Just have a thought, cry a word or pray a silent plea
Do you know what will happen?
Billows arise and our senses catch a proof of energy!
Do we know laws of nature?
All one what we feel or do Echoes return from eternity!
We'll come to know our creator!

We can't stop the echoes
Which are called forth by our animation,
We can't hide from the echoes,
From the truth of our soul - Vibration!

Do we know the sound of collapsing walls,
of collapsing truth, law and order?
The instant of our Freudian deliverance?
We are the shouters at the border!
As long as we're entangled in declinating
All divine forces around us!
As long as we refuse to understand
That we are here to spread out power of love!

Are we actually informed
About the mission of our life?
Do we know what we're composed
Of the Trinity - of heart, soul, and mind?
Our dark nights only come to bright end
When we learn - Violence makes us sick and blind!
Creation's aim and end, aspiration is to rise
The beam of love in our mind!

Just think about what we call love and hate
We are the ones to recreate it!
When we're sowing fear, when we lock up
We will reap all the tears
All the tears that separate!
Punishment and pain is the touchstone for the gain
For the way, our common spirit grown!
All our silent cries, our thoughts, our deeds
Will call forth what we earn, will arise

Mighty Echoes!

This one is really good, too.

Here's the whole thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzQBw5yQLaI

a bit about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Shanty

and a really good song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPvxjcQZCXs
with Lyrics.

Mixed Up Man of the Mountains
(Khan)

Looking at the ground
I'm crying for the sky
I know I can't hope to go
Where I can't be found
But when I close my eyes
I start to fly

The sun burns down on me
I'm praying he'll take me away
So very much higher
Than the peaks above me
I open myself, my spirit is free

And I start to fly

As a lead upon the breeze
Higher than the chains of mortal man
Surrounded by the wonders of a life I saw but never knew
Revealed the hazy secrets of the mountain man
But soon as I am here I have to go

Dear, Dear Stevie HillFish.

Oh, gosh. I wish I could add something to this, but mostly I feel good with music when I listen to something upbeat/pop rock and happy, or a mantra or something.

I suppose this one might work...

Hi Violets!

Nice to see you here...

Do you like Live?

Cause that's on the agenda today...

"The Distance to Here"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Distance_to_Here

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAxjHFgM_G8

"Meltdown"

like himalayan cold winter
these jaws of kali yuga
yeah it's a crazy kind of cold
a lifeless slumber in a stranglehold
yeah tibet, she can't even touch this
I'd rather freeze in her forests
we're in a spiritual winter
and I long for the one who is

Fire!
amongst the dreamers
you are in my heart

like the sun on the icecaps
my only friend in the prison
the long lost meaning to the story, story
the divine and ancient wisdom
how could it be that you've graced my night?
like a pardon from the governor
like a transplant from the donor
like a gift from the one who is

Fire!
amongst the dreamers
you are in my heart
Fire!
amongst the dreamers
you are in my heart

in a place where everything dies
it's you I follow
see by the fire
of my darlin', yeah!

Fire!
amongst the dreamers
you are, you are
in my heart

like a pardon from the governor
like a transplant from the donor
like a kiss, like a kiss, from my darlin' yeah

I haven't heard many of their songs that weren't played on the radio, but they were a favorite for my Libra friend when we were in high school. They always had a good vibe to me.

It's not the most mellow music, but it's poppy/rock, and their energy is just really positive. This band has really helped our entire family just generally feel pretty happy. I really love this band.

I like to watch this video with my son. He really likes the song and the video.

Yeah, they were really young, too.

:Throwing Copper" almost every song got airplay, "Lightning Crashes" was really beautiful...

"The Dolphin's Cry" was the only one they played much, but I really think their most Transformational and the Height of their Spiritual Experience came on that disc, with the turn of the century.

Speaking of Transformational Spiritual Experience:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGaqmvIEyaI&feature=kp
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solsbury_Hill_%28song%29

"Solsbury Hill"
(Peter Gabriel)

Climbing up on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
Had to listen had no choice
I did not believe the information
[I] just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom
"Son," he said "Grab your things,
I've come to take you home."

To keepin' silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Tho' my life was in a rut
"Till I thought of what I'd say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

When illusion spin her net
I'm never where I want to be
And liberty she pirouette
When I think that I am free
Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes but still can see
No one taught them etiquette
I will show another me
Today I don't need a replacement
I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,
they've come to take me home."

oooooooh ho ho ho ho!!! I LOVE me some music!! May I introduce you to my latest love...

Moodorama

They are based in Regensburg, Germany and are FANTABULOUS! Fantastic AND Fabulous!

You can find them on youtube...and my current favorites are the following that I HIGHLY recommend you listening to!

Sweet Toffee
Hold On (with the vocals of one fantastic Michael Frank)
Darkness

ALSO: If you loved The Thompson Twins, they branched off several years ago and became Babble...my alltime favorite song of theirs is Hold The Sky

These are the lyrics which are so beautiful...and make me think of my friend Lisa who just recently passed away...

Hold The Sky by Babble

I know you're watching me 'cause I've been watching you
Pretend that you don't care when I know you really do
The stars are at war that heaven is up top
But I won't give you up I will shelter you from harm

You don't have to hold the sky up anymore
You don't have to hold your tears back anymore

The crown that you've been wearing is heavy on your soul
I look into your eyes, I see you all I need to know

You don't have to hold the sky up anymore
You don't have to hold your tears back anymore
You don't have to hold the sky up anymore
You don't have to hold your tears back anymore

I will put my arms around you, it's your turn to cry
You can close the door behind you, be the little child

You don't have to hold the sky up anymore
You don't have to hold your tears back anymore
You don't have to hold the sky up anymore
You don't have to hold your tears back anymore

Transformational Music... hmm..

It's true that - music has it's way of blending our heart with the mind and even beyond those two... deeper. Well, not just music... after all - even music is part of what we call "sound" - and certain sounds can have all kind of effects on us. Transforming or transformation - would be such effect.

Binaural sound for example - you can tune all the chakras with it and even more than that. Same goes for music - something that we humans learned since ancient times, for example - the music they sing in certain christian churches - is actually ancient Byzantine music which follows the same principals of working with chakras. Same habit is present in all religions - and maybe... they wouldn't have lasted so long without it. It can have an empowering effect on ones belief - since it's something that works on practical terms (you can reap the benefits - as one who believes in a specific religion - who uses this sounds based practice). An example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09lWB06kqfA (some of you might have a religious prejudice - that makes you wanna reject any material with religious content - so, just hit play and turn-off the monitor while listening - if you're not Romanian, you don't understand the lyrics anyway... though still - you might feel its effect if you can get attuned to it).

Then there's music - that seems to be in tune with to our soul, the kind - we just like and keep on liking for years to come. Our taste for it doesn't seem to fade away as it's the case - "with the music of the moment" - which we might replay years from now for the sake of nostalgia. Do i mean classics? Maybe... singers like Mark Knopfler and its Dire Straits or other similar bands like Pink Floyd - can fit the hunger of certain people... But since i mentioned the classics - that also makes me thinks of the true classical music - and its immortal artists like Mozart and Beethoven. I'm a different kind of drifter - though, the kind that's fond both of the originals - and what came as an expansion to that. So, maybe not that popular (well known), but i'm kind fond of this artists (they have a certain transformational effect on me - if that's how you like to put it). As in...

Otto A Totland's:

Ro To - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoTJ_ZvmW6g

Solêr - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHwLBrzly3Y

...and then there's someone you might have hear of (especially if you love the piano) - as in... Ludovico Einaudi. You could start with his "Walk" if you wanna get a taste of his music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Inp7C3F5or8 and then there's "Primavera" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga2DCMfOrz8 If you like what you heard so far you could give a try of - one of his concerts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=guXyvo2FfLs

While looking for some his songs - to add here, i found a cover of Primavera played on a harp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqNc7Pu0LhA - truly angelic!

PS. Would help (enormously) is you have a proper equipment - at least a decent sound card and a decent pear of headsets. Though, that's a matter of appreciation - and a certain type of love for sound and music (if you're a bit of audiophile - as some would put it).

"You can Never go Home"
(Moody Blues)

I don't know what I'm searching for,
I never have opened the door.
Tomorrow may find me at last,
Turning my back on the past.

But time will tell of stars that fell,
A million years ago.
Memories can never take you back,
Home, sweet, home.
You can never go home any more.

All my life I never really knew me till today.
Now I know I'm just another step along the way.

I lie awake for hours,
I'm just waiting for the sun,
When the journey we are making has begun.

Don't deny the feeling,
That is stealing through your heart,
Every happy ending needs to have a start.

All my life I never really knew me till today.
Now I know I'm just another step along the way.

Weep no more for treasures,
You've been searching for in vain,
'Cos the truth is gently falling with the rain.

High above the forests,
Lie the pastures of the sun,
Where the two that learned the secret now are one.

I don't know what I'm searching for,
I never have opened the door.
Tomorrow might find me at last,
Turning my back on the past.

But time will tell of stars that fell,
A million years ago.
Memories can never take you back,
Home, sweet, home.
You can never go home any more.

"Spirit of the Water"
(Peter Barden)

See the lights out on the water
Come and go, to and fro
In the time it takes to find them
You can live, you can die
And nothing stops the river as it goes by
Nothing stops the river as it goes

All alone and all together
Every day, come what may
By the time we find each other
We can live, we can die
And nothing stops the river as it flows by
Nothing stops the river as it goes

"Fly to the Rainbow"
(Scorpions)

Life is empty, can't remember anytime before
On a plain lit cold December, see it evermore
Gliding through this life and another as a child
Ever doing games and losing things, always playing gigs

Somewhere in the sky, where the moon the stars shine bright
Where the sun is shining in the night
I am in disgrace, yet I see your smiling face
And I hope you let me share your place

I don't live today

Rain in the sky made the world fly
Into time, back beyond time
Sun in the sky made the world fly
Into time, back beyond time

Rain in the sky made the world fly
Into time, back beyond time
Sun in the sky made the world fly
Into time, back beyond time

Rain in the sky made the world fly
Into time, back beyond time
Sun in the sky made the world fly
Into time, back beyond time

Well, I lived in magic solitude
Of cloudy looking mountains
And a lake made out of crystal raindrops
Roaming through space

Two thousand years ago
I've seen the giant city of Atlantis
Sinking into eternal wave of darkness

Somewhere in the blue distance
Are those long forgotten trees of yore
A broken violin floatin' alone in December
Darkness everywhere and nothing more

Symbol, strange symbol, melancholy
Painting torrid colors on a sky of green
Candle breathing one night only
Far away, in chillness, bleak, unseen

Drifting galley, ghostlike shadow
Sails rigged to catch and kill the time
Echoes wandering down an endless meadow
I feel sublime

Let There Be More Light
(Waters) 5:38

Far, far, far away - way
People heard him say - say
I will find a way - way
There will come a day - day
Something will be done.

Then at last the mighty ship
Descending on a point of flame
Made contact with the human race
at Mildenhall

Now, now, now is the time - time
Time to be - be - be aware

Carter's father saw him there and
Knew the road revealed to him
The living soul of of Hereward the Wake

Oh, my, something in my eye - eye
Something in the sky - sky
Waiting there for me

The outer lock rolled slowly back
The service men were heard to sigh
For there revealed in glowing robes
Was Lucy in the sky

Oh - oh - did you ever know - know
Never ever will they
I cannot say

Something in his cosmic art
And glowing slightly from his toes
His psychic emanations flowed

Tales of Brave Ulysses
(Cream)

Well you thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever
But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun

And the colors of the sea blind your eyes with trembling mermaids
And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing
Sparkling waves are calling you to touch her white laced lips

You see your girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise
And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body
Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind

The tiny purple fishes run laughing through your fingers
You want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter

Her name is Aphrodite and she rides a crimson shell
You know you cannot leave her for you touched the distant sands
With tales of brave Ulysses, how his naked ears were tortured
By the sirens sweetly singing

The tiny purple fishes run laughing through your fingers
You want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter
