What would it be like? I LOVED this answer!

'Course not all power plants would shut down (not if abandoned unexpectedly), they'd melt down. And thus I'm throwing in this about modern Chernobyl, a place that has been abandoned by humans for decades:

Adding to the intrigue for me is that most were abandoned quickly and also told they'd only be gone for a couple of days so you can see homes and schools pretty much as they were back in Russia in the 80s, though of course they've endured decades of weathering.

I personally don't know what to think of Ouija boards, but I've wanted to do experiments. One of them includes using such boards at places like Chernobyl just to see if the aether is affected (though multiple people using their own boards in case it's all head space that determines the experience).

Not that quiet. Coyotes, insects, birds, and more. Though areas of nuclear meltdown probably are, and I bet it would be eerie!

Though massive chemical attacks could be. I saw a pic of the effects of a chemical (gas) attack in I think Iraq and it was sad seeing the entire village dead including pets. At least it must've been fast given that it looked as if human and animals just keeled over in the street which meant they had no time to run, hide, or even gather to pray (especially as there were even cats dead in the street and I know they'd have fled or hid if they were aware in time to do so, even if they just died elsewhere after doing so).

I don't know how long such a place would be devoid of animals but if say some alien species (or even doomsday weapon tested by quite a few governments, from the United States to China that was much more potent than they'd expected--the first atomic test was carried out despite that some said it might create a permanent sun that could destroy all life on Earth, your tax dollars at work) could, in theory, turn our entire atmosphere deadly, ideally (from the mind of conquerors) only temporarily which would leave all structures intact after killing those living there (which would also be of interest to many governments right here on Earth as well as to hostile extraterrestrials). Naturally, there'd be little (if any) life to make noise after such an apocalypse.

I think more like PLANETKILLER, ELE.
The entire planet BURNS IN A RAGING FIRE,

quicker renewal that way. We are not our bodies anyway
