I wouldn't make it, unless a different side of me appeared. I watch Walking Dead, where they're almost always dirty, tired, sweaty, etc - and I'm on my couch, freshly showered, drinking hot tea. IP: Logged |

I mentioned I was bringing a solar shower like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Advanced-Elements-gal-Summer-Shower/dp/B005CB7XCK Dr. Bronners soap is great for cleaning just about everything (even camp pots and pans) and not harmful to the environment. My favorite scent is Almond. http://www.drbronner.com/media-cent er/international/germany/press-releases/dr-bronners-organic-biodegradable-soap-now-sold-at-globetrotter/ Bathing can be done in rivers and lakes. I've thought about trying to go "no poo" (not using shampoo anymore). It's supposed to be great for your hair. And some super earthy people say we should only use water to bathe. Soaps can be too drying and overall not good for the skin. I'm not sure. I'd bring some Ylang-Ylang and Amber resin with me to smell nice and help keep the bugs away. IP: Logged |

Well after T described her spear-making, moose-killing skills I don't blame you, Sven. It's all kinda primitive! And no we wouldn't feed you to the Yeti. We'll reserve your minions for that. IP: Logged |

I actually have tiny shoulders But I hauled my kids in Ergo Baby carriers for so long, this just feels like my calling, to piggyback people and things. Also I have broad hips. Come to think of it my husband, who is strong with broad shoulders, tires easily when carrying the kids...I wonder if having a low center of gravity is better for hauling stuff, and that's why women have traditionally hauled the water and firewood (....didn't they?) quote: Originally posted by Vajra: *ETA* Maybe it's also got to do something with one's childhood experiences. I once got thrown into the bay by my prankish, neanderthal boyfriend and the water was so cold I was temporarily paralyzed and feared drowning. This is where being thin just sucks. But I've washed in super cold water before...that's no fun...but it feels amazing afterwards! IP: Logged |

LOL!"moose-killing skills" I wouldn't go that far. I sometimes forget that this place isn't all a bunch of females. I'm uncomfortable with a guy who is uncomfortable hearing about a womens menstrual periods. Anyway, i'm tired now and i realized earlier that most people don't know me here anymore or my style of humor. I think it falls flat especially over the internet. I hope everything I said earlier was taken how it was supposed to be and people don't think i was being completely serious I was mainly trying to get a laugh. Goodnight

I thought men love it when we talk about our periods. Anything that has to do with "down there"...they should be glad to hear about. Right? Yeah I think so. And T, this thread got a little wonky because it's half jokey, half serious! Like if you actually could make weapons to kill something bigger than a squirrel, and we were starving...that would be epic!! Nothing funny about it! It's just funny as a story that seems improbable and like a joke. But if it IS probable...then it switches over to amazing. We'll just have to camp and see. Maybe someday...for real....maybe someday!

Aquarius Sun, Aquarius Ascendant, Taurus Moon- I am not vulnerable to women and their manipulative and conniving ways. I'm also probably the biggest and strongest of the group. So we all agree.... I'm in-charge now. IP: Logged |
