I've just been thinking, what it would be like to suddenly drop all your commitments, pack a small bag of supplies and run off into the distance and you have to find ways to survive on a small budget!

Does anyone want to join me? If so, Show me your 6 skills!

Taurus Sun --> Good at slow-burner activites, good for long hikes. Reasonable Cook.

Virgo Moon --> Logical mind, to pack the correct equipment needed to survive.

Scorpio ASC --> Determined to achieve goals, no serpent like activity, all is done for the benefit of the objective. Sometimes will alienate self from others, if others do not comply.

Gemini Mercury --> Effective communicator when necessary, likely to confuse people or strangers at times.

Aries Venus --> Direct when wanting something, Diet of sweets or sweet food is likely to keep energy levels up. Go get! Possible impulsiveness.

Leo Mars --> Wants everyone to do things my way, but only if someone elses way is not better. Motivates the team, and will persevere regardless.

DUhhh!

Vajra

quote:
Leo Venus --> Tries to look good even when sweaty, and with her charm manages to motivate the guys to compete for her attention a little bit and thus stops them from whining or behaving 'unmanly'

Yeah, I'm coming, too.

Capricorn sun: Pack mule.
ETA: I mean, I will be a simple beast of burden, carrying stuff. I'm pretty strong for my size.

Aquarius Mercury: Ghost stories, alien confrontations, and other interesting lies, told around the campfire.

Pisces moon: The unmanly types who fail Vajra's tests or are not healed by her homeopathy can cry on my shoulder.

Sag Venus: Up for anything. "Ooo squirrel for dinner again!"

Leo ASC: "Smile, kids! Dinner is served!"

Gemini Mars: Can verbally intimidate strange hikers, forest rangers, and bears. Can verbally intimidate anyone.

Aries Sun + Gemini Moon/Venus - will either talk to you so much, that you insist on rushing ahead to help Vajra or I'll be reading as I walk.

The first thing I thought of, with this combination, was this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlZO79Ui0qo - but there is no way that I'd have the energy for that.

I would probably learn ahead of time, where all of the libraries are located in certain areas, and try to stake out camps near them. Not just for me, but for any other readers, for research, etc.

Mars in Pisces - explains why the second one wouldn't work for me, either. I'd be taking pictures along the way, so again, not much help.

Since I love my showers or baths, I would probably find a way that everyone could bathe in privacy, and safely. I love nice-smelling products, body wash, shampoo, etc, so I'd probably always have a bottle of something like that on me. Or dragging it behind me in a suitcase on wheels.

Scorpio ascendant - scare away anyone who might try to mess with us. I have a "look" that I've heard other Scorp ascendants also have, even if we can be squishy and harmless in reality.

Aries Mercury -
I don't know. A fast thinker? I can plan if I can make a list, but I can think on my feet. I also have quick reflexes.

So, wait - do we actually get indoor plumbing and a place to stay? Because I was thinking about the zombie apocalypse type thing when I was typing. We all know how important it is to smell good, when the world has ended.

I can grow food, when Mother Nature doesn't decide to mess with the weather conditions, and my vegetables. 6th house Sun.

(Oh, I've just seen Vajra's Mercury - maybe we could just walk together. )

An adventure sounds fun. An adventure set in a post-apocalyptic world is even better.

Capricorn Sun: The pragmatic minimalist. Willing to do (just about) anything to survive.

Aries Moon: Will protect others from vicious wild beasts, zombies and other dangerous and/or supernatural beings. Natural hunter. Bravery makes me valuable to the group, although my recklessness may very well kill me before I can benefit anyone in any way.

Capricorn Ascendant: Able to survive on very little. Packs water filtration bottles for everyone.

Sagittarius Mercury: Cracks jokes to help others forget about the harsh reality. A bit of a jack-of-all-trade and hence, is able to make a lot of things, from building shelters to making fire. Master-of-none and easily distracted, so the shelters may not be safe and the small camp fire may turn into an inferno due to inadequate safety precautions.

Cap Venus: Solid mental fortitude. Able to preserve through tough times. But dark, sombre attitude may depress others. Will b*tch about filth and inadequate hygiene.

Taurus Mars: Physical endurance. Able to withstand hunger and is not averse to strenuous activities.

Totally fine but sorry in advance for having to take their side completely when they complain about you. It's the only way to restore their spirits.

No but seriously Pisces moon is good cover if we have to resort to breaking the law and maybe come under scrutiny while leaving the convenience store with our backpacks too conspicuously stuffed with stolen potato chips, candy, and soda.

*wide eyed innocence*

"Oh good heavens I thought you paid, Vajra! I'm so sorry, officer, we would NEVER actually steal, it was just a mix-up!"

*little tears*

ROTFL

Nah, we have enough Aries Jupiter in the group to insure everyone.

Pretty awesome. I guess your Gemini Mercury read that in a manual beforehand and knew how to survive.

first: Virgo Sun - assist Vajra with feeding and healing and massages, together make everyone turn vegans and Yogis by the end of the trip. Also, grooming and helping the boss (aka Sven) while...

second: Cap ASC - naturally teaming up with Faith and slowly and steadily taking over the whole enterprise. while...

third
Leo Moon - naturally drawing the guys attention which will drive Vajra's Aries Moon (and Leo Venus) to go solo and first (more exposure), leading to the whole group being protected by Vajra being the first who's eaten by Mr Yeti...which is....(but Vajra gets saved the last minute by Sven's fearless Venus and Mars, who sacrifices his limbs for her)

(typical) Libra Mars and Mercury (strategy)
Taking over the whole enterprise and turning it into a peace march heading for Geneva ( I assume we are hiking in the Alps, if not, let me tell you why I think we should do it! )

(all the while secretly celebrating with Faith and Vajra the success of our plan...we were a teeam duh! what did you think?)

and

Virgo Venus
Doing all this while remaining humble and pure all the time, before and after

Kidding! I'll be back with the serious version, nice thread!

Ha! No I'm just the pack mule.

Muddy is the Cap mastermind. But hey with her Cap stellium she doesn't need any co-conspirators, just slaves who can skin and roast muskrat *correctly* and make it taste real nice.

OMG Heroic!

Well sorry, I would have gone first and told Mr Yeti to get the f*** out of our way, and he would have listened because you DON'T mess with my Gemini Mars, but I was loaded down with all the camping gear.

You'll be such an asset to us, T!

quote:
I'm sure Faith would let us borrow her mule and we could make the months long trek to the nearest town to find you some.

Oops no, I meant I will be the pack mule. And yes you can borrow me.

quote:
I will bring enough Go Girl female urination devices and Diva Menstrual Cups for everyone - well, every female. And some extras for any more who might eventually join us.

Go Girl - http://www.amazon.com/Go-Girl-Female-Urination-Lavender/dp/B003BEDUS6
Diva Cup - http://www.amazon.com/Diva-Cup-Pre-Childbirth/dp/B000FAG6X0

Isn't there some shot we can get beforehand so we don't bleed for six months?

Please?

quote:
Especially when it comes to building structures (Cap & Sun in 4th house combo), weaving (Virgo), sculpting and whiddling. I'd be good at constructing multi-room, mansion-like lean-tos, yurts, tee-pees, dream-catchers, wigwams, igloos, carving spoons, bowls, canoes, weaving hammocks, hats, clothing etc.

All kidding aside I think I can do this, too...not as well as you...but I've always wanted to build a house of straw bales, cobs, sod, mud, etc. Or a dugout. Well a treehouse is ideal, the Swiss Family Robinson gave me some design ideas I'd like to implement...but that wouldn't be "roughing it" enough.

Depending on the area I can wildcraft medicinal plants along the way. Hmm, I know about 25 weeds and their uses and would study more beforehand.

6H sun, backing up the other doctors

We'd all have to drink jewelweed tea regularly to prevent poison ivy.

I'd love to do this for real, especially with all of you.

Wheels are churning in my mind, thinking of how we could actually pull it off.

Oh and imagine all of us looking at the night sky and figuring out our transits together...someone's gotta bring the telescope!

And books!

I definitely wouldn't make it without a way to wash, and without my books. I can do without the kindle, though.

I take off by myself, as well. I would have fallen down a drain one night, if there wasn't snow on the ground, that highlighted the very big hole in the ground that I almost stepped into.

You're a 6th house Sun, as well? I just posted something to Vajra, in Hearth and Home, about this.

Oh and thanks ~ right, anything to stop the whining ~ glad we agree.

Yes, 6H sun, and I'm pretty well-versed in herbal medicine, homeopathy, alternative remedies, natural foods...

*ahem* No one is excited about their Go Girl? You'll thank me later.

Faith, I thought about figuring out our transits that way too.

Everyone here is so knowledgable in different areas. I think we'd not only survive, but thrive.

Hope we haven't scared Sven off into more distant hills.
