I wish I could watch videos at work sometimes. Is this by chance the same video (that I've also not watched) that funnyordie recently created?

Speaking of videos, that one SNL did of Rahm Emanuel's apology was hilarious.

Yes it's FOD

Be sure to watch full screen, [the Carey 'swing' will be more effective].... I had to watch 3 times to catch all of it. Like what 'jimmy' mutters wielding a screwdriver.

there are out-takes on that page too; when Carey surveyed the prosthetic 'pair' he declared they felt republican.

" can I be ambassador to Cancun" ?

thanks for the headsup on Emanuel I be checkin it ((^_^))

From> alternet: The 5 creepiest moments of the SRLC

quote:
With each passing year, Republicans’ hero worship of Ronald Reagan grows in inverse proportion to their understanding of his actual record. When Reagan left office in 1988, he was in the conservative doghouse; in 2010, he is a conservative godhead. This transformation was on particularly fascinating display at the SRLC, where speaker after speaker slobbered over the Gipper’s legacy in one breath, and in the next attacked Barack Obama for embodying that same legacy.

The GOP’s ignorant Reagan fetish hit one of its freakiest peaks during a talk by Louisiana Representative Rodney Alexander, who grew misty reminiscing about the details of Reagan’s funeral. He reviewed everything he could remember from that historic day, from the swelling he felt in his chest to the way the light of the setting sun played off the dead man’s casket. The more Alexander went on, the more likely it seemed he might close with the hope that Reagan would claw his way out of his grave and rescue the country, much as he does in the Onion’s zombie Reagan video. None of the speakers seemed to understand that if Reagan somehow managed to rejoin the living, the first thing he’d do is applaud Obama’s new arms control treaty with the Russians.

Leftists will always despise Ronald Reagan for putting the Communist Socialist regime they idolized on the scrapheap of history...without firing a shot.

When I found out Edward Kennedy had a brain tumor, I stated I wasn't going to comment further on Kennedy's many shortcomings.

Ronald Reagan is dead.

If leftists here want to resurrect Ronald Reagan and hold him up to ridicule, I'll be happy to resurrect Edward M Kennedy...and there's a hell of a lot more with which to ridicule Kennedy, than Reagan. So much more in fact that the FBI has agreed to permit the Kennedy family to "cleanse" the secret FBI files on Kennedy before they're released to the public.

And the illogical will never "get it"

or even the joke, for that matter.

Once again a fine example of looking through the wrong end of the lens.

quote:
On Saturday afternoon, day two of the conference, delegates entered the main hall to find sitting on their seats a genuine "Alaskan snack." Stamped with the logo of SarahPAC, Sarah Palin's fundraising arm, was a plastic strip topped with red ribbon containing eight ounces of authentic Alaskan jerky, made from "Reindeer Meat, Chopped and Formed."

It's one thing to hear Palin talk about the joys of shooting wolves from helicopters, or joke about how her family loves all kinds of animals -- "right next to the mashed potatoes." It's something else to watch thousands of her fans munching on dried deer meat she had shipped across the continent from Indian Valley, Alaska. After taking the podium, Palin quickly brought up her love of Alaskan wildlife, which is not just a biographical detail, but the subject of her new Discovery Channel nature show. This love of nature has limits, however, as symbolized by the machine-made jerky. Palin explained to cheers that if "Drill, baby, drill" means "drilling through some caribou" in the Arctic Refuge, so be it. "We're at war!" she exclaimed. "As for some of the birds, they may have to take one for the team!"

Would you care to provide a source for these supposed Palin quotes Node?

I listened to Palin's speech AND I don't recall anything being said about "drilling through Caribou" OR "the birds will have to take one for the team".

I do remember Palin reminding the audience that O'Bomber's nuclear experience was gained from his years as a "community organizer" and the nuclear experience gained during O'Bomber's stint as an absent US Senator while he was campaigning.

Funny, not a single...what you would call a credible source, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times...has reported Palin saying anything about drilling through Caribou or Birds taking one for the team.

How do you account for that?

If Palin had said that, they would have been all over it and flogged it to death. It's apparent only AlterNet had hearing sharp enough to hear Palin say that.

If we're going to make assumptions based on what hasn't happened, then I guess it's safe to say because no one has come forward to dispute it, or sue the writer for slander that he is in fact credible.

Let's use reasonable argument, shall we?

Therein lies the evidence that leftists are not knowledgeable about much of anything.

First, given the low numbers of those who actually read AlterNet, it's doubtful if anyone who matters has even seen what they reported Palin to have said.

Second, the major media were there at the event and none reported Palin saying any such things.

Third, AlterNet is at best a mindless gnat whom no one needs to refute.

How about you doing a search for those so called Palin quotes and see if you can find a credible media source reporting them?

I did...and I got nada.

"Sarah Palin speech quote, drill through the caribou"

Or, write your own search criteria and find a credible source.

Or, simply forget it. I only challenged the quotes because I watched the speech and didn't hear Palin say anything even similar to what AlterNet reported.

my brain aneurysm took one for the team listening.
I can't believe I jumped to the deflection bait. And in a 'fun' thread no less, never mind that Reagan would prob approve of arms control or a treaty with Russia ...

or about the aggressive steps to secure weapons grade plutonium and enriched Uranium globally.
Particularly when the least credible GU contributor asks for 'proof'

No, lets listen to a half term EX Governor talk about her Executive Nuclear Experience.

Well, where is that video clip of Palin saying we should drill through the Caribou AND...the birds can take one for the team??

Barack Hussein O'Bomber is no Ronald Reagan.

Reagan would never have agreed to a treaty which left the US in position of nuclear inferiority.

The Russians have just developed a new generation of nuclear warheads. This misbegotten treaty forbids the development of new nuclear weapons for the US. Most of the US arsenal is decades old and we don't even know if they will still work.

Nuclear weapons which don't work are no deterrence at all...no matter how many you may have.

It is utter folly to restrict US weapons while leaving China, Iran, North Korea and any other nation free to develop, test and produce current generations of nuclear warheads.

Barack Pollyanna Hussein wants a nuclear weapons free world but, any reasonably bright teenager can find plans for a workable nuclear device on the Internet.

President Pollyanna wants to stuff the nuclear genie back in the bottle but it's way, way, way too late for that. In a supposed nuclear weapons free world, any nation with a single nuke is in a position to blackmail and intimidate the rest of the world into submission to any demand.

On another front, Sarah Palin is right about O'Bomber's very public statement to take nuclear weapons off the table in response to an attack on the United States...even if the attack is a chemical or biological weapons attack. It's an open invitation to attack the US with chemical or biological weapons with no logical retaliation...except the use of conventional weapons.

After Palin ripped O'Bomber, O'Bomber administration officials were stuttering, stammering and attempting to walk O'Bomber's folly back.

O'Bomber is not Commander in Chief material.

Neither is O'Bomber any match for Sarah Palin. Every time O'Bomber makes the mistake of taking on Palin, he gets his head handed to himself.

yes that is so obvious - i guess it explains why he is president and she is the also-ran...who thinks she is campaigning for the office now...funnily though, she is not campaigning FOR the presidency but against it. which many would call treason at worst and divisive at best. what was that famous quote? oh yes, "united we stand, divided we fall" in other words ms palin wants to be president even if it means taking down the whole country into civil war. charming, truly charming.

Let's see, who said this?

"We have the right to protest against the policies of this administration...or any administration"

If speaking out against a president is treason...then virtually every demoscat member of Congress is a traitor.

Further, if lying was a federal crime, most demoscats would be serving life sentences for their serial lying.

i don't know, jwhop why don't you tell us? but it's true, there's nothing wrong with criticizing the administration...i do it myself.

doesn't change the fact that palin is a presumptuous overblown idiot and that there is a difference between criticizing the administration and campaigning to undermine it ... with idiotic phrases like "hopey changey" to rope in the moron factor of the country. and getting the wrong end of the stick every single time she opens her mouth. and acting as if she were not just the president herself but the QUEEN of america. she is stuck in her college days methinks!

Any administration which attempts to Rule...against the wishes of it's citizens..as opposed to govern with their consent....MUST be criticized and then kicked out at the first opportunity.

Any administration which sets out to destroy the economy, to gain control over the lives of citizens, to tell citizens what medical services they can and cannot have, to tell citizens how warm or cool they can keep their homes, to tell citizens how much money they can make, to skyrocket the cost of goods in the private economy and to skyrocket the cost of energy upon which the economy of the nation depends...is a tyrannical administration and it's not only patriotic to speak out against that administration but it's a public service necessity and duty to do so.

Sarah Palin is speaking out very effectively.

I'm surprised you didn't recognize that Hillary Clinton quote.

Eisenhower would have backed the treaty.

quote:
Every time O'Bomber makes the mistake of taking on Palin, he gets his head handed to himself.

Repeating this doesn't make it true. Obama has, in fact, won on every issue Palin's commented on.
