an interesting document, pg 30 is especially fun!

"what can you sell when you don't have the white house, the house or the senate?

save the country from trending towards socialism!"

"The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on “fear” of President Barack Obama and a promise to "save the country from trending toward socialism."

"The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how “ego-driven” wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and “tchochkes.”

The presentation was delivered by RNC Finance Director Rob Bickhart to top donors and fundraisers at a party retreat in Boca Grande, Florida on February 18, a source at the gathering said.

In neat PowerPoint pages, it lifts the curtain on the often-cynical terms of political marketing, displaying an air of disdain for the party’s donors that is usually confined to the barroom conversations of political operatives."

NOW do we see why FOX news is the blue-eyed darling of the party and our caribou barbie?

of course fearmongering seems to be the preferred tactic of ALL parties, countries, religions, but this document is still very interesting for what it says about the authors.

I was surprised they needed a manual. That's like needing a manual for how to load a dishwasher.

They sure used those tactics in a panic during the last presidential election. After hearing a prerecorded phone call message to vote Republican on my answering machine, I went from not caring if Obama or McCain got it to leaning toward Obama because it was so cultish sounding, and scaring me more from Republicans than from the Democrats as intended.

But I'm told making manuals is a guy thing...just as it's a guy thing to not read them after.

I wondered what RNC document the media were using when they posted those charts and graphs.

Similar to what was posted during the heat of the baggers last fall. All you need is a scanner and presto here's your sign. No need to think for yourself...here are some handy talking points to parrot while your at it.

I had to look up: Noun 1. tchotchke - (Yiddish) an attractive, unconventional woman
chachka, tchotchkeleh, tsatske, tshatshke
Yiddish - a dialect of High German including some Hebrew and other words; spoken in Europe as a vernacular by many Jews; written in the Hebrew script
fille, girl, miss, missy, young lady, young woman - a young woman; "a young lady of 18"
2. tchotchke - (Yiddish) an inexpensive showy trinket
chachka, tsatske, tshatshke
collectable, collectible - things considered to be worth collecting (not necessarily valuable or antique)

Michael Steele R-MD
Lt Gov and RNC chairman has been in and out of fundraising hot water for underperforming.

*edit to add

I keep hoping that the C-street house scandal will finally blow open.

Separation is crucial to me, The Fellowship- or The Family as they are called

what struck me most was the blatantly condescending attitude to the "ego-driven donors" and how sucked in some people are by the cynical storyline being churned out.

not that i am truly surprised but there it is in black and white. meanwhile obama is not doing a very good job of creating socialism here in the broke ole usa...but people are seriously scared that he is!

the c-street house has been blown open but it seems people are so scared of socialism they don't see that the opposite is actually going down fast.

Have you seen this page Kat?
open secrets

They even have a *drop down* for heavy hitters.

And re: 133 C Street- there was a book written, and some media coverage....needs more exposure.
And I don't think we have learned nearly half of the story yet.

& on this page http://www.opensecrets.org/lobby/index.php

I was surprised at the number for lobbyist[s] a reduction last year it seems.

Though the money thrown down has doubled in 10 years.
