Yeah, Newt is gaining momentum. I can see another Contract With America type of landslide on the horizon.

Gnarly Naughty Newt
makes his "pledge" for the FOURTH time

quote:
"I also pledge to uphold the institution of marriage through personal fidelity to my spouse and respect for the marital bonds of others.

That would actually be the fourth time Gingrich has taken a no-adultery pledge. He took the first one in 1962 when he married Jackie Battley, and then again in 1981 when he married Marianne Ginther and made a third one to Callista Bisek (now Gingrich) in 2000.
Gingrich, whose first two marriages ended because he was having an affair a woman who would later become his wife, addressed his history of infidelity at the ABC News/Yahoo Republican debate on Saturday, where he said that he has sought forgiveness for his mistakes.

Seriously Amie Anne, my responses on this thread have been to point the humor bone at Newt.

If you really want to know and understand your man, ask his girlfriend Fannie or his bud Freddie.
Or if you have the time and serious inclination, read the recently released ethics report.

Ahhh, Gingrich. Such rich fields. Where to start? How about the Center for Health Tranformation? Just cause I'm sick with a cold and in the mood for heathcare talk.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics /gingrich-think-tank-collected-millions-from-health-care-industry/2011/11/16/gIQAcd72VN_story.html

quote:
A think tank founded by GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich collected at least $37 million over the past eight years from major health-care companies and industry groups, offering special access to the former House speaker and other perks, according to records and interviews.

The Center for Health Transformation, which opened in 2003, brought in dues of as much as $200,000 per year from insurers and other health-care firms, offering some of them “access to Newt Gingrich” and “direct Newt interaction,” according to promotional materials. The biggest funders, including firms such as AstraZeneca, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Novo Nordisk, were also eligible to receive discounts on “products and workshops” from other Gingrich groups.

God Almighty, how I love these think tanks. "Workshops"

Ami, you might have mentioned that to Newt who was screwing around on his wife while attacking Clinton for the same. Classic witch trial psychosis.

As for me, I've not committed adultery.

what's not to love about newt? (if you're a democrat):

deserted his wife while she was deathly ill, never mind the adultery, this shows no heart. but it is all too common for spouses to drift away when cancer is on the menu, so there will be plenty who don't hold it against him...

sees the solution for the poverty syndrome as putting kids back to work, never mind if they put their parents out of a job..and thinks their lazy parents are the problem, never mind many of those "lazy" parents work multiple sh!tty jobs and still can't make ends meet.

rips romney for fitting the "1%" profile as if he didn't himself...

labels as socialist those who think politicians are corrupted by the huge amounts of money they are making through lobbying "donations" and insider training. (oops that includes sarah palin)

not to mention he equalled clinton in prevarication under investigation...and not about his sex life but matters of governing and corruption.

It would be a grand gesture if Naughty Newt left the GOP but as long as he can hid behind womens skirts, I suspect he won`t.

Ok for that, but HOW do you justify Clinton?

In an ideal world, no one would cheat on anyone. This is the ideal. I agree, However, for someone like Herman Cain to have to drop out because he was dogged due to having an affair, is scary.

Obama is given a pass for all sorts of things like cavorting with terrorists and the Republicans must be choir boys. It is very scary to me that the news media which should REPORT news, MAKES news

Amie Anne, I can`t . There is no justifing his infidelity. I don`t preach against adultry based on any political leaning. If you commit to public service plan on obeying a moral and ethical codes of conduct.
Cain had dirty hands and I give him kudos for bowing out and giving his wife respect.

Also and most important, I don`t believe for one nano second Cain had the qualities much less the idea of any Govermental knowledge requirements to be President.
