who said anything about free rides? what makes you think that is what is being proposed??? do you drive with your eyes shut too?

what you see as a tourist is no basis for forming an all inclusive (or exclusive) system. the only complaint i ever heard from a doctor in england was that the PRIVATIZATION and decapitation of that system made it seriously stressful.

You want things for free, Kat. I don't know your income level. If I needed free things, I suppose I would want them, too. However, they don't turn OUT to be free, even for the people who think they will such as you appear to be.

If you get free medical, it will be at the level of Russian which sucks.

lol i have never had anything for free. what are you talking about??? at the moment i am broke, i was forced to take a month off work (for free, ie no work no money thank you very much). i have been rich and i have been poor, but i have never had anything free since i left home when you were a little girl.

this healthcare law is not about FREE medicine! anymore than mr gowdy - whose speech lonake posted for you - is one of "obama's people".

look to your own self, ami. when you start actually noticing what is right in front of you instead of guessing what other people have hidden up their sleeves, maybe you will get some actual learning.

They are only good for emergencies...things like a burst appendix or to set a broken bone.

I agree.

I don't like the way the insurance companies handle things; I don't like how they are driving the cost of health care through the roof.

I've enjoyed boycotting the racket.

If I have a health emergency, and end up in the hospital, I will go on a payment plan, and the cost of that will be about the same as the insurance would have been.

If you can't figure out why it matters, then you probably don't have this issue figured out.

Asking me to share my personal understanding of the laws of karma is cool, but Kat requests info on your healthcare status and this is somehow out of left field and suspect? wtf?

as i said the first time, curiosity.. i am interested in the real life stance of people who object to this law.

rather than assume that i know what you do with your life, i asked. i realize you think you have everyone here "pegged" but you are wrong 90% of the time and i don't operate that way.

but then i am not paranoid enough to find such a question intrusive.

suzanne white, the chinese astrology lady, posted this on FB today.

THANK YOU SUPREME COURT. As of today, I can come back to live in the United States. I have been a health exile for 32 years. France is certainly the best place ever to be in medical exile. None the less, it's nice to know I can come back.
In 1978, I lived with my children in Long Island's glistening Hamptons. I got Cancer. Had a mastectomy. Blue Cross Cancelled my health insurance policy, clai...ming I had a pre-existing condition. That false claim was due to an error in my hospital admissions record that had been made by a visiting medical student whose name we all know by now. I had no money to sue. I had to sell my house and worldly goods to pay for one year of chemotherapy and food and schools for the kids. We three lived in a rental till the year of chemo was over. I was almost dead. The kids were scared blue. Now I had a real pre-existing condition. I could really not get health insurance in the United States. Hearing this, dear French friends sent us 3 one way Air France tkts back to France where we had lived before. France has saved my life more than once and is currently saving my youngest daughter's. I don't want to abandon France's remarkable medical care. But it is nice to know that if I want to, I can come home again. THANKS BARACK OBAMA. May your tribe increase. sw

france has one of the best healthcare systems in the world, and has for decades. in the USA it has been ROUTINE for women with breast cancer to be "cancelled" by their insurance companies as she was when she was not yet 40 with three small kids.

i don't like the insurance racket either. one of the reasons it needed regulation; the trade was more customers to make it float if they REALLY cover our health. you insure your car, your body is a lot more expensive to fix and essential to your life. and you can say "driving is a choice" but large swathes of this country REQUIRE a car to get around.

of course a decent transportation bill would help with that particular problem, but it won't pay your medical bills.

My new wife had breast cancer, too. She's thrilled with the provision making it illegal to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions.

this is preposterous and presumptuous

You want things for free, Kat. I don't know your income level. If I needed free things, I suppose I would want them, too. However, they don't turn OUT to be free, even for the people who think they will such as you appear to be.

i have never even suggested that i think this is about "free" medicine. first off, i avoid doctors and hospitals religiously. secondly, the law is to minimize the "free" care that is currently spinning medical costs out of the stratosphere.

thirdly, you take your usual tack of accusing those who disagree with you of the most self-serving motives, AND you come to the wrong conclusion.

so instead of ASSUMING your motives and current status, i asked. neither of you has bothered to answer. very civil.
