How about an increase for the extra children placed in foster care?
For their placement, maintanace, and follow-up care?

more great points that will get ignored by 'certain people'....

Yes, I am Ami. Thank you.

I do not and have not 'given little' in my life. Can you say the same?

We often hear about money you are going to donate here. So what's that all about?

Also be careful about talking about that kind of thing, especially here. It will make a certain few flock to you like flies on **** and only want to become friends with you because they think you have money to throw around. I found that out the hard way.

That is lovely AA. Remember what you said about being humble now.

It's amazing you have all day to spend on LL with all those businesses to juggle. God really does always find a way....

Now, would you like to add something about the topic at hand, or will you use this as another thread to brag about yourself in and talk down to and judge others?

Just askin'!

Oh, I see you edited out the part about having 4 businesses ....for some reason AA.

I should have copied the post. I'm sure enough people caught it. Anyway, good luck with those. You have a huge garden to take care of too. Hope you are able to handle it all.

I assume you mean that you tithe? Is that ALL you give?

Hey, if that's what makes you feel good and better than everyone else and will get you a pass into heaven, you keep on doing that.

I edited it out because maybe I didn't want to share it but you put it back in but thank you for the well wishes. I am a lover and not a fighter and I suspect you are too, T

I'm a healthy dose of both. A warrior is a better way of putting it. Fighting is too easy.

I'll read the 3 pages later. (ETA: read it, nothing to add save what I put here.)

In the meantime I just wanted to point out that even in California there's no way to spend the "money" (actually either very special checks/vouchers or electronic data that are very limited in their use) on drugs (not unless say someone wanted to buy stuff on welfare and then trade it in). Welfare does little more than make sure you don't starve (and you won't be eating everyday unless you stick to PBJ and/or Ramen noodle) and has a lot of safeguards built into it against abusing the system, and in CA you also have to show good faith efforts to find work unless you can show you're disabled, and trying to find work generally includes drug tests in it.

(ETA: I just remembered, drug convictions effectively bar many from welfare benefits, and that includes to those who allow someone with such a conviction to live with them. Other crimes, especially fraud to get welfare which can also being sued to pay it back, also get a person barred, typically 6 months at least but can last years or be permanent, especially if more than one conviction.)

I'm sure there are ways to beat the system but unless they can keep off the alcoholics then I don't really care about all the others either. Hmm, tobacco is so expensive maybe that should be barred, too (especially a welfare mom with kids).

And I'm much more concerned about how much welfare the wealthy get, too.

Mirage.... three posts quoting me in a row with nothing but an alien head as the header? and a "poor thing"?

If you have some beef with me or something you would like to say, please start a new thread about it in Hearth and Home or Free For All. .....I mean....what is it called now? ....

LLC2 (i'm not sure which one would be more appropriate), but certainly not this thread.

Rather than quoting me like that multiple times with no reply, spit something out. What is it you would really like to say? And do it in a different thread. That way anyone who has a problem with me ever can go there and let it out and I can address them there from here on out. Let's keep it neat and on topic.

If I have misunderstood what you are trying to get across in those last three posts and they were somehow meant to be friendly posts, then I apologize.

I've a feeling they werent. I prefer it when people are straight up with me. Have something to say? Then say it. Elsewhere. I'll be sure to get back to you.

Using illegal narcotics is a crime; therefore, they are criminals.

^ So is jaywalking and drinking when you're 20.

Ever done either of those?

And before you think that I'm reducing the argument to absurdity, in some states the possession of a small amount of marijuana will get you about as hefty a ticket as jaywalking.

(And, no, I don't smoke pot, but its classification as a schedule one narcotic is absurd, especially when you compare it's effects to those of cigarettes and alcohol.)

Funny how legal drugs, which are just as often abused and deleterious ti health and work performance, are not barriers to benefits. Most of congress are under the influence not only of drugs but bribery and powerlust. Let's test them before they receive our tax dollars too.
