With the skewing of news to fit different niches, it is almost excusable that people don't notice the subtle hints sometimes included to avoid libel and misrepresentation charges, as in headlines that scream "so and so reveals" something scary and then the discerning reader finds, inside, that the revelation is pure speculation...Though people who are only interested in feeding their preconceptions rarely even notice those qualifiers, it protects from lawsuits and lets the rest of us know what's up. There are a lot of these misleading stories right here on this page IP: Logged |

This concerns me more than the satire folks take as truth. Headlines scream for their biased attention and in their excitement of finding "truth" , they forget to comprehend what speculation , unsubstantiated or even according to "sources" means.
Boom, instant validation and they are off and running ,hand rubbing & dancing in glee
