If you want to keep your doctor, you can keep your doctor..Period.
Barack Hussein O'Bomber

O'Bomber is exactly what I said he was...before he became the Liar in Chief; a lying little Marxist Socialist Progressive Twit.

This horse's ass took more than half a TRILLION DOLLARS out of Medicare to pay for the Abomination known as O'BomberCare.

By the way, this is outright theft. Medicare recipients have paid into Medicare all or most of their adult working lives and the little Marxist Socialist Progressive jerk just stole more than HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS from their health care funds.

Elderly patients sick over losing doctors under ObamaCare
By Carl Campanile
October 25, 2013

ObamaCare is making seniors sick.

Elderly New Yorkers are in a panic after getting notices that insurance companies are booting their doctors from the Medicare Advantage program as a result of the shifting medical landscape under ObamaCare.

That leaves patients with unenviable choices: keep the same insurance plan and find another doctor, pay out of pocket or look for another plan where their physician is a member.

New York State Medical Society President Sam Unterricht is demanding a congressional probe after learning that one health carrier alone, UnitedHealthcare, is terminating contracts with up to 2,100 doctors serving 8,000 Medicare Advantage patients in the New York metro region.

The are 2.6 million elderly New Yorkers who receive Medicare, the public heath-insurance program for the elderly.

But one in three patients — nearly 900,000 — are enrolled in Advantage, Medicare HMOs run by private insurers.

Dr. Jonathan Leibowitz, who serves 30 patients under Medicare Advantage at his Brooklyn practice, said he was blindsided by UnitedHealthcare’s decision to give him the boot.

“A patient can’t see his doctor? What are they doing!” he asked.

UnitedHealthcare told Leibowitz that because of “significant changes and pressures in the health-care environment,” he’d be getting the ax on Jan. 1.

Leibowitz’s patients are furious. Alfred Gargiulio, who has cerebral palsy with a seizure disorder, has been seeing Leibowitz since 1993. “Obama had said I could keep my doctor. Now they’re doing away with my doctor. They kicked him out! After 20 years, that’s not right. We love Dr. Leibowitz,” said Gargiulio.

Another patient, Wilma Streicher, 76, was equally baffled. “Of course I want to keep Dr. Leibowitz. I don’t see why they want to push him out,” she said.

Patients of other doctors faced the same dire situation. Lung-cancer patient Jeannette Campregon, 79, received a letter from EmblemHealth saying that her internist, George Ruggiero, was terminated from her VIP High Option Medicare Advantage network.

Emblem notified her she could stay in her current plan and choose another doctor, pick a different plan to keep her doctor or call a customer-service rep for help.

“I’m going absolutely nuts,” said Campregon, who got conflicting information from three different service reps. “I don’t want to change my doctor!”

Dr. Ruggiero said, “The people who lose out are the patients.”.......

Medicare was spending way too much onfraud and waste. Pity to nip those in the bud, eh? And really, as I keep saying, Medicare (single payer) fir akl woukd have been a lot easier and simpler, but we wouldn't want tge younguns having what you are able to enjoy, would we?

Why is that? You think an old life being extended is more practical and humane than keeping the young healthy?

But medicare Advantage is not the part you have paid into through income tax, is it? I hsven't really done my homework on all the variables yet.

But correct me if I'm wrong, Advantage is the add-on you pay for like regular insurance, and has been a trial for many of its customers...as to insurance companies booting doctors, I won't comment till I know more

Yeah, I recall O'Bomber was going to go through the government...agency by agency and eliminate waste, fraud and abuse.

When pigs fly
When bears don't crap in the woods
When the Pope isn't Catholic

That's when O'Bomber will cut any federal agency budget.

But, once again, thanks for raising your hand and identifying yourself as a Socialist. You see Catalina/katatonic, it doesn't matter a tinker's damn what you say you are.

You're all for the Communist Health Care System...Single Payer..which puts all citizens under the thumb of government for even life saving medical treatment and you've identified yourself.

You have shown yourself unwilling to look outside your own back door sweetie. As with the astromap, you don't look where you might see something that doesn't feel all cozy and self-congratulating.

You have it right Cat. Medicare Advantage is through a private corp.

Not one single thing has been done by the Marxist Messiah to reduce fraud and waste in Medicare...or any other federal program. Another broken promise by the Marxist Messiah.

In fact, the hare brained twit O'Bomber didn't put any language in O'BomberCare to prevent people from signing up and fraudulently claiming a subsidy they're not eligible for. No income verification needed.

Let's see... "We write the laws, you get to decide what to sign" who said that? Hint, not the President.

MAYBE it's time for Congress to do a little cleanup on what the now obvious issues are? In fact I'm sure I heard that little self-assessment will be checked in arrears and cost you NEXT year if you tried it on for size. So maybe not so useless after all.

Like your estimated tax for the quarterly payments, if you underestimated, they'll let you know, no worries!

They have spent three years trying to convince people they would repeal it, instead of looking at it and making it workable, so a lot of people who were counting on that repeal never bothered to do THEIR homework either.

Always easier to encourage hate and fear than roll up your sleeves and deal with what IS.

Yeah, it's time...past time really for Congress to clean up their act and scrap O'BomberCare.

This monstrosity was sold on a series of lies by O'Bomber and his Socialist comrades in Congress. Further, it was necessary for O'Bomber and Socialist demoscats to bribe members of Congress to pass this piece of crap without a single Republican vote.

O'BomberCare has earned a spot on the ash heap of history and the sooner the better for America.

Thanks AG.

Those who live in the negative will reap the negative. Hate pushing, vengeance loving, bullying and the like have characterized the Obama Haters on this forum for years, even before Obama

Some go so far as to consider they are so much more righteous than others that it is their DUTY to metaphorically SLAY the enemy with whatever weapon they can imagine.

No wonder they can't even make use of a solid advantage in the House. The whole world including their own constituents can see what they are up to.

Indeed. "Sour" seldom reads well.

It was interesting that they thought that they could hold the government hostage by doing it in the name of something polls say people don't want. Many of them maintained throughout that they were just trying to enforce the will of the people. But then when people were polled about this Republican tactic, Republicans even did poorly amongst Republicans, and Tea Party did even worse. It was a colossal backfire.

It's time for something new, Republicans. The things you've all been trying haven't worked. Trying them more desperately won't make anything better.

Washington Post to Obama: 4 Pinocchios for you
October 30 2013 - 1:49 PM
Posted by: Doug Brady

The only surprise is that this is coming from the Washington Post:

The administration is defending this pledge with a rather slim reed — that there is nothing in the law that makes insurance companies force people out of plans they were enrolled in before the law passed. That explanation conveniently ignores the regulations written by the administration to implement the law. Moreover, it also ignores the fact that the purpose of the law was to bolster coverage and mandate a robust set of benefits, whether someone wanted to pay for it or not.

The president’s statements were sweeping and unequivocal — and made both before and after the bill became law. The White House now cites technicalities to avoid admitting that he went too far in his repeated pledge, which, after all, is one of the most famous statements of his presidency.

The president’s promise apparently came with a very large caveat: “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan — if we deem it to be adequate.”

No, he bought the Wall Street Journal.

Washington Post is known, however, to do fact checks like this, that aren't friendly to Obama. It is a legitimate gripe in that people with insurance plans that don't meet the new minimum requirements are going to have to change plans. They aren't able to keep them as promised. The only people that get to keep their plans are the people already insured through an employer where the insurance company has planned to modify the policies appropriately to account for the minimum standards in the ACA.

The worse your coverage was prior to the change, the more you'll have to pay as a result of the change.

My bad, sorry, it was recently sold to the Amazon man, not Murdoch .

I believr if you somehow managed to not have your plan changed in the frenzy of changes over the last three years, it is still eligible for grandfathering, but the insurers have altered plans considerably and many have used phony excuses re thr new regs "forcing" them to.

Exactly.

The histrionics I've heard on CSPAN radio the last few days are amazing. The repubs claim over and over that the fed site is blocked and people cannot sign up??

so which is it, do they WANT people to sign up? and are ****** that their "constituents" cannot access the site?

Amazing.

Yes to the three years, If you had coverage before the law, and that coverage is good coverage, IE -it meets the laws requirements you can keep it. Grandfather it. If however your plan does not meet the standards, it was a lousy plan to begin with. The gov is actually helping you get a better plan, by highlighting your plans lacks.

As a for instance insurers are no longer able to charge women double the amount paid by men for their insurance.
