The conversation is not having an effect on me, because I've heard it all many times before. But have you explored the other side of the argument?

I've told you that CO2 is only a tiny percentage of total greenhouse gasses and that human contributions to that total amount is miniscule, but you ignore the facts. Not a single prediction by the models have come true. CO2 levels have increased substantially, but there has been no corresponding warming. I guess some people think it's okay to lie if it betters the planet in their eyes, but that's not science. Let's call it what it is: At the best, it's religion; at the worst, it's fraud.

Temperatures are rising more rapidly than anticipated. This graph shows just how much warmer 2016 is in comparison to previous years. This trend for ever rising temperatures will continue.

Asto keen,

I agree that climate change is real. I admire your effort to persuade those who still don't think it's real.

Climate change has always been happening. It's due to the Sun, not man.

You can post all the charts you want. Climate scientists have been caught faking those numbers. Satellite data shows no warming for 19 years.

I in the UK am experiencing the warmest Summer ever. Family and friends from other parts of the world are reporting abnormally high temperatures. This is not what scientist alone are saying.

Incidentally, it is not only scientists but large and authoritative bodies in international institutions, such as the UN, are presenting evidence of climate change. It is only a few dogmatic interests in the US who still deny this reality.

What is so upsetting is the fallout is being experienced by the most vulnerable regions in the world: in vast swathes of Africa and India. Drought, extreme heat and drying up of water resources is causing untold misery. However people in places distant from these realities, in the shopping malls of the west, prefer to ignore them.

But it is clear to me that your mind is closed. I don't think any of this will change it. So, why do I post here? There maybe others who are sitting on the fence who might be swayed, and also to voice my disagreement.

In the words of Edmund Burke: The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

The UN has political reasons behind its agenda. They openly admit they want to transfer wealth from rich nations to poor ones. We have also had some of the coldest winters. Local temps have absolutely nothing to do with global temps.

Good for the UN if they want to transfer wealth from rich to poor - as much of the wealth was appropriated from the 3rd world in the first place. But that has nothing to do with climate change which will affect everyone. Again it is the rich countries perpetrating it.

Wealth redistribution is the real motive, not saving the planet. Climate change is a hoax. Plain and simple. The reason it's even called climate change is because global warming didn't fit the narrative.

You mentioned the UN, so I explained that. Rich countries have their own agenda. Carbon credits is the goal. You, like many others with a social conscience, have been duped by junk science with a financial and political agenda.

More evidence of rising temperatures today from The Washington Post. These are examples in support of the graph above.

[URL=http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2016/07/22/two-middle-east-locations-hit-129-degrees-hottest-ever-in-eastern-hemisphere-maybe-the-world/?wpisrc=nl_m ]http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2016/07/22/two-middle-east-locations-hit-129-degrees-hottest-ever-in-eastern-hemisphere-maybe-the-world/?wpisrc=nl_m[/UR L]

Two Middle East locations hit 129 degrees, hottest ever in Eastern Hemisphere, maybe the world

The combination of temperature and humidity is so extreme that it’s beyond levels the heat index is designed to measure. The index, developed by R.G. Steadman in 1979, is actually only intended to compute values up to about 136 degrees.

Once again, localized temps have nothimg to do with global temps. We have had some of the coldest winters recently. Does that mean global cooling is real?

Avoid the rush and short supplies now. Stock up on clothing fit for northern climes before it becomes obvious to everyone the sun has entered a dormant period which could last 50-100 years and bring on another Little Ice Age. There has been no global warming, Man Made or otherwise for the last 19 years. Contrary to the prediction of the wooden headed Algore, earth hasn't turned into a burned out cinder.
For those of you who simply must have something to obsess over, it would be better to obsess over something real. Remember the lessons of Chicken Little, Goosey Loosey, Henny Penny and Ducky Lucky. They too were obsessed that the sky was falling.

The sun is the biggest driver of climate. Even a first grader knows that. You can leave your sun screen at home and go buy some chapstick. It's going to be a chilly ride. But wait, they will just say it was caused by our BBQ grills.
