I'm going to try to step gently around the high emotions surrounding the two candidates and give my opinion to the original question.

The Republican party has suffered a serious blow. I believe that baring an unimaginable reversal, the Democrats will take both the White House and a slim majority in the Senate. The House is now in play, but I don't think they will take that this year.

Beyond 2016, I think the Republicans will take the wrong lesson from their loss and double down on party chosen and vetted Mitt Romney knockoffs, offering nothing to either the populist conservative nor to the next generation Bernie supporters. I think they will be content to serve in the minority as long as they have some negotiation power.

The real prize is 2020, when the census happens and whomever wins will have power to redraw districts.

So in short, I think the Republicans will settle into a role that allows the Democrats to enjoy a long lasting majority while blocking any real opposition or change.

You live in a fantasy. This is all just a diversion to cover the latest Hillary Wikileaks.

Perhaps I do. But more to the point, far more in this country live in a fantasy than I do... the fantasy created for them by MSN and social media. And they will believe in sufficient numbers I fear.

The reality is that there is going to be a turnout to the polls on November 8th like this country has never seen. People are fed up. We will take our country back from the political hacks who have sold us out.

Just to be clear, when I spoke of the Republicans, I wasn't speaking about people who vote Republican, or are registered Republican, I was speaking about the party "elite" who were NeverTrump'ers from the start, and are now doing everything they can to assist Hillary so they can regain control of "their" party with a Trump defeat.

My jaw dropped as all of this unfolded. I know someone who has been all for Trump, who admitted he thought he was finished, before this debate. Now he thinks he'll hold his ground a bit, even if he doesn't win.

I'm mainly astonished that it took so long. Another friend mentioned a debate, from 1992, and how respectful all of the candidates were. Now it's just reality show heaven.

Yes!! They are. But that's apparently okay, because it's Trump.

I noticed that it was considered a wonderful thing, for Melania to forgive her philandering husband, but Clinton is greedy and evil for doing the same.

What exactly did Melania Trump forgive Donald Trump for?

Was Donald Trump forgiven for Rape and Sexual Assault while married to Melania?

First I've heard of that.

She forgave Trump's words. Bill's actions are reprehensible. The women on the left here don't care about that.

This is the last time I'm going to say this.

There are ALLEGATIONS that Bill Clinton raped and/or sexually assaulted women.

There are ALLEGATIONS that Donald Trump raped and/or sexually assaulted women.

On what planet is it appropriate to insist that one set of women is telling the truth while the other set of women is lying?

They both could be telling the truth. They both could be lying. I don't know. Neither do you.

This whole thing is a distraction from the real issue.

Good, I'm glad to hear that's the "LAST TIME" you're going to say that.

His trying to bed a married woman when they were married... forgave his grabbing/ groping womens genetils, his ignorance in having an open mic and well, just for being the Donald

Is it proven that Bill Clinton assaulted women?

And Donald was trying to cheat on Melania?

Bill settled out of court, which indicates there was some rather damning evidence. Trump was encouraging Billy to ask a girl he liked out. He wasn't saying he cheated on his wife. It was just guy talk, much like you hear in sports locker rooms. Not excusing it, but it is what it is. And the left downplays Bill's part while exaggerating Trump's. No surprise, though. It's to be expected.

Beyond Howard Sterns unsavory tapes, expect a lot more of the Donald exposed.

There's not a shred of evidence that Donald Trump ever "groped" raped or sexually assaulted any woman.

There's plenty of evidence Bill Clinton did. There's plenty of evidence Hillary Clinton enabled and defended him in his sexual escapes. Plenty of evidence Hillary The Corrupt called the women her husband raped, groped and otherwise sexually assaulted...bimbos, whoores, trailer trash and initiated the bimbo patrols to shield Bill Clinton. Now, it's all coming out and those women are speaking out.

ack jwhop, you quoted my misspelling.

If he did not grope, how the heck does he know he can get away with it?? Common sense dictates he knows from experience.

No, common sense dictates that it was just locker room banter. But there's no common sense on the left.

I'm blaming my computer. It's supposed to catch spelling errors when I copy and paste.

You really meant gentiles, didn't you?

I sincerely hope they (republicans) can rebuild on strong ground .

The fire is out of control and I`m wondering who can bring it together and make an old boys network party whole and modern again.

Teabaggers can not.

Any nominees for positive change?

Come on bro, the Republicans still have political control. Hillary Clinton's victory will just maintain the status quo. Nothing seriously damaging will happen to America.
