We only one insurer in all 159 counties of Georgia, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and they are about to raise their rates by 40%. That's what happens with no competition.

Trump and Republicans in Congress destabilizing health-care coverage have created this situation.
It is now going Nation wide. Your own state of Ohio is experiencing this.

Had you not only listened, but understood the ramifications [posted by myself, and others here] of:
The constant attacks
and intentional efforts to create uncertainty =
pushing some plans to withdraw from the marketplace and others to raise premiums.

Cause and effect
If you understood the Neutering that has been going on you would know.
The political blame game is likely to continue and intensify in coming weeks as insurers announce more decisions, either to curtail or withdraw from markets or to seek big rate increases.

"In other states, insurers have made requests for large rate increases. Others face the prospect of having zero option for consumers. In Iowa and Nebraska, a small midwestern insurer called Medica has been catapulted into the national spotlight as potentially the last insurer in both states' marketplaces, although that company has not announced a final decision about whether to participate in either state. In Missouri, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City announced in late May that it would leave 32 counties in Kansas and Missouri."

quote:

Team Trump Used Obamacare Money to Run PR Effort Against It
The Trump administration requested $574 million from the Department of Health and Human Services' “consumer information and outreach” budget, which is supposed to be used for advertising the ACA and encouraging enrollment. Instead, they bought social media ads and produced more than 130 videos designed to damage public opinion of Obamacare. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum26/HTML/003526.html

Trump is threatening to gut the Obamacare markets, repeatedly telling aides and advisers that he wants to end the subsidy payments. The deadline for sending out the monthly Affordable Care Act subsidies to health plans is Thursday. Trump has the discretion to decide unilaterally whether the payments continue

Personally, I think that you do know this.
And are furthering the agenda of repeal without replacement. This thread leads one to ask are you a tool?

Health coverage should not be political.

It was on a death spiral before President Trump. Obama had to lie to get it passed. And the core principles it is based upon doomed it inevitably to failure.

Obama didn't have to lie to get it passed... the public did not vote directly on it! Nor did O write the bill

However there was,a great deal of discussion before it.. and you two howled at the deceit and railroading.. compared to this farce it was thoroughly vetted and debated. Of course Obama didnt boast that he would overhaul healthcare in his first days in office either.

Documentation disproving all three of those assertions have been posted.
You continue with a baseless diatribe. Why?

So you want the dismal situation of the mid 2000's to not only make a come-back but worsen?

It would seen so. Millions upon millions of people have coverage now that never had it before.

Was the ACA what Progressives or the health industry itself wanted? NO

Call it the Art of the Compromise Deal. It became what we could get passed.

Now we are looking at over 30 million uninsured in the coming years. Most of these people live paycheck to paycheck.

Thanks for proving you are a tool, and I do mean that in both uses of that word.

Hahaha

Trump is destabilizing ObamaCare...by not throwing more US taxpayer money at the insurance companies?

Since when is it the duty of Presidents and taxpayers to prop up major US corporations...who, btw lobbied hard for ObamaCare....same as the drug companies?

The President has decided it's time to stop throwing taxpayer money down the toilet...AND, he's right.

Yeah, imagine having to shell out $6,000 to $8,000 before you can use ObamaCare.

Hey, there goes that leftist talking point that 22,000,000..22 Million would LOSE their health insurance if ObamaCare is repealed.

Choosing to not purchase is a far cry from LOSING insurance coverage.

July 27, 2017:

If the individual mandate were to be repealed and Americans were no longer required to purchase the Obamacare-mandated levels of health insurance coverage, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) believes that 15 million Americans would no longer purchase such coverage.

Its the law of the land, until its not. Therefore it is the Presidents job to uphold it until he can change that law. Not create suffering for millions by undermining it, using its funds for his own political purposes and basically strutting around saying he's above the law.

Looking forward to paying more for your Medicare and insurance are you jwhop? How about not being able to get care in the ER because it's jammed with people who can't see their doctor anymore?

If you have cancer it is blessing to have only 6-8000 to pay for treatment. Now fund the thing properly, stabilize the market and work on improving it.

A Bipartisan Effort can fix Obamacare.
Original promises plus lower premiums are all possible if enough heads discuss with the positive intent of making this the best Health Care Law in the World.
We have seen that Negativity is pointless.
