Thrilled Bill Maher is back after a summer break! ((( ))). I was jonesin'.

Other favorites are Chelsea Handler, "The President Show" on Comedy Central, Samantha Bee, SNL and a few others.

Let's post the best clips here.

Hey!!

I don't watch Bill Maher, but I did years ago, when we had HBO.

Samantha Bee was a favourite from last year, onwards. I don't know why I stopped looking for updates - I think the season ended. She's been on all Summer, and I had no idea.

Hey teasel

You no longer need a cable subscription to watch your favorite shows. There are too many cord-cutting options out there at this point to list here, but I have a Roku and a MXQ Pro box and I rarely use them. All you need is a wifi or internet connection. With a box like one of those, you can ditch the cable. While nice to have,I've actually reverted back to those sites that I've used for years and can even stream them to my TV if i want - don't even need those boxes. Usually the newest episode is posted within and hour or two after airing on those sites. Just make sure you have Adblocker on and don't download anything. Most of my favorite shows are from the UK or Australia. One's I'd never even known about if not for modern day "TV", I now get to watch entire series as soon as they come out.

Try TVMuse: http://www.tvmuse.com

The links to the latest episodes get posted in the comment section below and you can pick whatever works best for you. Sometimes you have to close out some ads but they should start streaming without an issue. Again, don't download or click on links or new windows that open - close them out.

I've been happy with a payed subscription to Sling TV on my ROKU too, but prefer watichg shows online without commercials for free on my time. There are some free live streaming channels on ROKU apps too. That's where I watch MSNBC and CNN! XTV - a free Roku app. Has most major news and other networks.

Anyway, let me know if you need help. No need to pay tons of money for cable anymore. My cable company actually sent me the Roku to try out for free and said I could keep it if I didn't like the app they offered on it. Good deal when I realized I didn't need their crappy app and still had plenty to watch without it. Minus 40 bucks per month for it.

HBO and Showtime shows are easily accessible these days.

I watch things online, like on "let me watch this". It just never occurs to me to look up the political shows, unless someone links to youtube.

We've been thinking about cutting cable. I have a roku that I use for netflix, and amazon (we kept it after one of mum's favourite shows moved from netflix to amazon). I meant to get rid of that this year, but I've been binge-watching that show over the past couple of weeks.

I'm going to be getting the free preview of HBO, so that I can watch Game of Thrones on the big TV. I need to set the DVR to record Samantha Bee and that guy on the Daily Show, too. Trevor Noah. I love him. And that other English guy, I wish I could remember his name. I think he's on HBO. John Oliver! This one from him, cracked me up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6Pyq99Wgqc

LOL that was good. *edit the John Oliver vid

I'm that guy @ 1:38 who refuses to leave his pint of beer behind. LOL! Love it.

Glad to know you mostly already know about the TV stuff. Much of what I watch is online on my tablet these days because it is out quicker than it is on the TV boxes and I dont' need to sit through any commercials. I do like to stream live news on the ROKU during the day sometimes, but have to be careful with that these days. Lol. Stop the effing madness! :P

Does your Roku have the Youtube app on it too? I like being able to watch youtube Vids through my TV. There's even a Dog Relaxation Roku app channel I've downloaded and leave on for the pup when I go out. It mostly plays Mozart, Beethoven and relaxing music and stills of dogs doing doggie things.

I emailed you quickly. I couldn't remember your newer address, so used the old one. I'm worn out, I've had trouble sleeping - my dog has a growth, we don't know if it's benign. I knew something was going on, but I really hoped that the vet would just say that it was arthritis.

That, plus the threat of nuclear war (or nucular, as GW Bush would say), and Charlottesville... I'm going to take something, to see if it will help me sleep. I've wanted to cry all day (and night). I did start to cry several times, and bit it back.

Hi teasel, Just saw this. I saw your email yesterday and emailed you back. Sorry to hear about your dog. I know how scary that kind of thing can be as I went through a medical emergency with mine in June and it took her over a month to fully recover from it. For awhile I though she wasnt going to and that it was the end. Thankfully it wasn't, but I understand how stressful that always is.

Earlier in the year, before that vet visit, mine also had a lump and I took her in to get a fine needle biopsy and found out it wasn't cancerous, thankfully. It was only after that, that I did more research and realized how common lumps and bumps often are in dogs and cats. Are you able to move the bump around gently without it seeming to effect or be painful to your dog? That is usually a good sign. Look up Dr. Karen Becker on youtube - Mercoloa Healthy Pets. She has a video about dog lumps and bumps and one on adding Turmeric - Curcumin to their diets to eradicate the lumps without surgery. There is something else you can make called Golden Paste - quick google search will give you the recipe.

Also, you might want to look into a homeopathic remedy called Biochemic Phosphates, for yourself (and pets) and/or Bioplasma. Both can be found cheaply at most health food stores and even Vitamin Shoppe. They work wonders for anxiety, nervous tension, headaches and a number of other ailments and helped heal my dog from her last emergency (along with flower essences/homeopathic combination). I know that is what helped save her life.

Don't lose hope. Look into some of these alternatives and I'll let you know if I think of anything else.

You are sensitive and so am i, so I feel you....sometimes the best thing to do is turn off the news, don't check into certain websites, shut out anything or anyone that might upset you and focus on doing something benefitial to yourself, breathing deeply and tuning into things that are more important to your own personal life. We live in unsettling, crazy times and it will take extra effort to stay steady.

Love you. Hugs....

That was really good. I decided not to post what i was going to, because I don't even want to get into anything on this forum regarding politics.

Bill Maher had a great show Fri night. Will see if i can find clips. He has an aftershow called Overtime on Youtube. Looking forward to see what he'll say this upcoming Fri about what happened over this weekend. I'm afraid to turn on the news anymore, to see what kind of insane new "Breaking News" will be on next...

Troubled times...troubled world we live in.
