You don't get to choose what's right or wrong for another human being. That's morality. One person's hate speech is another person's freedom to believe and say as one wants to without legal reprisals. The Constitution is the law of the land. It protects all manner of unpopular speech. I'm merely trying to educate, since there are loonies on tv saying that hate speech isn't protected. I'm arguing in favor of free speech, which the far left wants to shut down. If we lose free speech, we lose our country. The First Amendment protects unpopular speech. I don't have to like what you say, but I defend your right to say it.IP: Logged |

Im not suggesting I choose what is right. But just because you can, is it right to incite to violence? Even your precedent case said not, in some cases. Is it legal to incite others to violence and offer to pay their legal costs, for instance? Intent has its place in this case. And the imminence of likely violence resulting from said speech is also one of the benchmarks. And said incitement led to violence and request for financial assistance as offered. Just FYI, did you know that in some areas no charges will be filed against persons running over protesters who illegally block highways? I don't agree with that. What I do agree with is tear gassing them to get them to disperse. Follow the law! Get a permit!IP: Logged |

I have heard of a few attempts to pass such bills but not that any have become law yet. Totally unsupportable to legalize murder for being inconvenienced. Even where the inconvenience itself is illegal it is the police job to deal with not the motorists. IF the protestors are not just blocking the road but smashing your windows there would be a case for hurting them while trying to escape same.. but a sticky wicket passing such a lawIP: Logged |
