The Storm and Flooding is beyond catastrophic. Could become worse than Katrina effect on New Orleans. Hope all in Texas especially the Coast, Houston, Austin and Galveston are safe.
Chennai suffered this in 2015. Hope everyone comes together for rescue. We have to assume a survivor on every roof and attic, we cannot leave a home thinking it would be empty.
Individual checking saved 1000s in Chennai.

This is beyond horiffic and any coastal state could suffer this type of event . It is frightening how out of control the weather has become.

God Bless Texas...

The waters are still rising. And they have three other issues. First, they probably have no insurance coverage for an "act of God" such as the cause of this flooding. Second, many had pets, and rescue attempts for their fur babies are ongoing. Last, still water attracts mosquitos, which carry deadly disease. Since the water has reached the top of bridges, clever Texans are rescuing bats from drowning; those bats will eat literally tons of insects every night, including mosquitos.

It is dire and sad news.

On a plus side, Houston has one of the biggest and best SPCA `s in the country.
Also, many hundreds have volunteered to take in and foster the fur faces as well

It's really surreal and terribly sad. I read an article recently about how devestating a similar storm could be in the Tampa Bay. Unfortunately iti's bound to happen eventually. I spoke to an old neighbor of mine who told me about the city i used to live in experiencing flooding from this storm - WAY far off in the other side of the gulf.....that area is just not prepared for it either.

I know what it's like to lose - or 'give up' (in my case) everything. The fact that these people had no choice in the matter makes it all that much harder. Traumatic situations always have a way of harshly, swiftly humbling people and reminding them of what's truly important in life. I don't think it's a coincidence that we had a total eclipse cross the entire US and then this sudden, overwhelming devastation. If there's one thing I've from this type of thing, is that these types of catastrophes has a way of bringing out the beauty of the human spirit. Material possessions lose their luster when you have what is truly valuable to treasure in life.

Prayers for everyone in Houston and surrounding towns and cities...

Yes. A Texan once told me, "Texas is more American than America."

As hard as the human situations are, I cannot take too much of the animal rescue/stranded videos. Most mothers would run through fire or take bullets to save their children... I can't for the life of me understand how a person could leave any one of their pets behind. I'd be inconsolable for the rest of my life knowing I left one behind. There's just no way I would do that. I saw a still image of a dog tied up, sitting ontop of I don't know what...while the water level was above the tops of vehicles. I could not click on the video to watch it. I'm hoping it got saved by whoever shot the photo. I'd like to kill the person who left it behind.

Hi Shura Thanks for taking the time out.....

I remember reading in the past that when an eclipse crosses an entire continent, there can be devastating natural disasters like this one. Sometimes eclipses only partially cross a continent. Anyway, I havent practiced or kept up with astrology for years now, so I can't elaborate more on that. I just know that it was supposed to be something significant for the US astrologically - hasn't happened in almost 40 years.

Hope you are well.

Eclipses = unnecessary hostile, passive aggressive vibes all around, I'm noticing too.

Peace be with you.

I know. I've been feeling the same way. My pets are my babies. I've been horrified by the pictures I've seen - animals tied up, or left in cages.

Its also time to pray for Barbuda, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Florida.
Barbuda's Infrastructure may be completely destroyed, hope the people at least are safe.
Radio Silence for 4 hours now.

Florida friends, do not leave anything to chance, you have 4 days to prepare. Mostly IRMA will turn into a Category 1 by Sunday but you cannot underestimate the volume of rainfall.
Storm surge of even 5-6 feet along with 50-60 cm of rain is enough to wreak havoc on coastal homes.

STAY SAFE.

Good luck Floridians..💘

And if youre planning on vacating be alert!

Apparently a lot if people are choosing to visit loved ones out of the area.. And airlines see this as a golden opportunity.

Complaints of price gouging are on the rise in the Sunshine State, reaching the point where Attorney General Pam Bondi has activated a hotline to report businesses suspected of taking advantage of people preparing for the storm. As of Tuesday afternoon, the hotline had received 143 calls.

One woman bought her daughter a plane ticket ($160)and when she went back to book one for daughters friend the price had gone up by about 600% ($1000)!
