Hey Node, you really don't know what you're talking about.

Only a fool would donate a penny to reelect the sleazy, lying, backstabbing weasels in the current republican congress.

Not a penny to reelect anyone who's obstructing the very priorities they got themselves elected and reelected on.

"We will repeal and replace Obamacare"

A total lie.

"We will reduce taxes on American taxpayers and American corporations."

A total lie.

It's obvious who these lying clowns work for and it's not their constituents. Color them gone!

Come the primary races in 2018, we're going to stuff their lies straight down their lying throats and send them back to Podunk.

One more thing. Don't bother sending me pleas for money. You'll get not one penny from me to reelect these lying, backstabbing weasels.

Senator Al Franken Kissed and Groped Me Without My Consent, And There’s Nothing Funny About It
Leeann Tweeden

In December of 2006, I embarked on my ninth USO Tour to entertain our troops, my eighth to the Middle East since the 9/11 attacks. My father served in Vietnam and my then-boyfriend (and now husband, Chris) is a pilot in the Air Force, so bringing a ‘little piece of home’ to servicemembers stationed far away from their families was both my passion and my privilege.

Also on the trip were country music artists Darryl Worley, Mark Wills, Keni Thomas, and some cheerleaders from the Dallas Cowboys. The headliner was comedian and now-senator, Al Franken.

Franken had written some skits for the show and brought props and costumes to go along with them. Like many USO shows before and since, the skits were full of sexual innuendo geared toward a young, male audience.

As a TV host and sports broadcaster, as well as a model familiar to the audience from the covers of FHM, Maxim and Playboy, I was only expecting to emcee and introduce the acts, but Franken said he had written a part for me that he thought would be funny, and I agreed to play along.

When I saw the script, Franken had written a moment when his character comes at me for a ‘kiss’. I suspected what he was after, but I figured I could turn my head at the last minute, or put my hand over his mouth, to get more laughs from the crowd.

On the day of the show Franken and I were alone backstage going over our lines one last time. He said to me, “We need to rehearse the kiss.” I laughed and ignored him. Then he said it again. I said something like, ‘Relax Al, this isn’t SNL…we don’t need to rehearse the kiss.’

He continued to insist, and I was beginning to get uncomfortable.

He repeated that actors really need to rehearse everything and that we must practice the kiss. I said ‘OK’ so he would stop badgering me. We did the line leading up to the kiss and then he came at me, put his hand on the back of my head, mashed his lips against mine and aggressively stuck his tongue in my mouth.

I immediately pushed him away with both of my hands against his chest and told him if he ever did that to me again I wouldn’t be so nice about it the next time.

I walked away. All I could think about was getting to a bathroom as fast as possible to rinse the taste of him out of my mouth.

I felt disgusted and violated.

Not long after, I performed the skit as written, carefully turning my head so he couldn’t kiss me on the lips.

No one saw what happened backstage. I didn’t tell the Sergeant Major of the Army, who was the sponsor of the tour. I didn’t tell our USO rep what happened.

At the time I didn’t want to cause trouble. We were in the middle of a war zone, it was the first show of our Holiday tour, I was a professional, and I could take care of myself. I told a few of the others on the tour what Franken had done and they knew how I felt about it.

I tried to let it go, but I was angry.

Other than our dialogue on stage, I never had a voluntary conversation with Al Franken again. I avoided him as much as possible and made sure I was never alone with him again for the rest of the tour.

Franken repaid me with petty insults, including drawing devil horns on at least one of the headshots I was autographing for the troops.

But he didn’t stop there.

The tour wrapped and on Christmas Eve we began the 36-hour trip home to L.A. After 2 weeks of grueling travel and performing I was exhausted. When our C-17 cargo plane took off from Afghanistan I immediately fell asleep, even though I was still wearing my flak vest and Kevlar helmet.

It wasn’t until I was back in the US and looking through the CD of photos we were given by the photographer that I saw this one:

I couldn’t believe it. He groped me, without my consent, while I was asleep.

I felt violated all over again. Embarrassed. Belittled. Humiliated.

How dare anyone grab my breasts like this and think it’s funny?

I told my husband everything that happened and showed him the picture.

I wanted to shout my story to the world with a megaphone to anyone who would listen, but even as angry as I was, I was worried about the potential backlash and damage going public might have on my career as a broadcaster.

But that was then, this is now. I’m no longer afraid.

Today, I am the news anchor on McIntyre in the Morning on KABC Radio in Los Angeles. My colleagues are some of the most supportive people I’ve ever worked with in my career. Like everyone in the media, we’ve been reporting on the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct allegations since they broke, and the flood of similar stories that have come out about others.

A few weeks ago, we had California Congresswoman Jackie Speier on the show and she told us her story of being sexually assaulted when she was a young Congressional aide. She described how a powerful man in the office where she worked ‘held her face, kissed her and stuck his tongue in her mouth.’

At that moment, I thought to myself, Al Franken did that exact same thing to me.

I had locked up those memories of helplessness and violation for a long time, but they all came rushing back to me and my hands clinched into fists like it was yesterday.

I’m still angry at what Al Franken did to me.

Every time I hear his voice or see his face, I am angry. I am angry that I did his stupid skit for the rest of that tour. I am angry that I didn’t call him out in front of everyone when I had the microphone in my hand every night after that. I wanted to. But I didn’t want to rock the boat. I was there to entertain the troops and make sure they forgot about where they were for a few hours. Someday, I thought to myself, I would tell my story.

That day is now.

Senator Franken, you wrote the script. But there’s nothing funny about sexual assault.

You wrote the scene that would include you kissing me and then relentlessly badgered me into ‘rehearsing’ the kiss with you backstage when we were alone.

You knew exactly what you were doing. You forcibly kissed me without my consent, grabbed my breasts while I was sleeping and had someone take a photo of you doing it, knowing I would see it later, and be ashamed.

While debating whether or not to go public, I even thought to myself, so much worse has happened to so many others, maybe my story isn’t worth telling? But my story is worth telling.

Not just because 2017 is not 2006, or because I am much more secure in my career now than I was then, and not because I’m still angry.

I’m telling my story because there may be others.

I want to have the same effect on them that Congresswoman Jackie Speier had on me. I want them, and all the other victims of sexual assault, to be able to speak out immediately, and not keep their stories –and their anger– locked up inside for years, or decades.

I want the days of silence to be over forever.

Coupled with the allegations of the Congresswoman yesterday, perhaps taxpayer protection for lawmakers can be stopped. And even taxpayer funded legal protection for the Prez, too, who is using DOJ to defend him in Conflict of Interest cases? http://verifiedpolitics.com/difference-al-franken-roy-moore-responded-sexual-assault-allegations-says/

Chairman Steps Down As NPR Grapples With Harassment Crisis
November 16, 2017

NPR's newsroom during election coverage on Nov. 8, 2016. The network has been rocked in recent weeks by allegations of sexual harassment.

As NPR's Board of Directors meet in Washington, D.C., this week, the network finds itself confronted by a series of dispiriting developments: a CEO on medical leave; a chief news executive forced out over sexual harassment allegations; the sudden resignation of a board chairman; fresh complaints over inappropriate behavior by colleagues; and a network roiled by tensions over the treatment of its female workers....

First on CNN: New George H.W. Bush accuser says he groped her during 1992 re-election campaign
Athena Jones, CNN
Fri November 17, 2017

(CNN) — Former President George H.W. Bush is facing new allegations from a Michigan woman who said he touched her inappropriately while he was in office at an event in April 1992.

The woman, now 55, spoke exclusively with CNN and said she was attending a fundraiser for Bush's re-election campaign in Dearborn, Michigan, with her father when the president grabbed her rear end during a photo-op.

"We got closer together for a family photo and it was like 'Holy crap!'" she said, describing the moment Bush touched her buttocks. "It was like a gentle squeeze."

Workers on Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders Campaigns Claim Sexual Harassment
Adam Shaw
17 Nov 2017

Campaign workers on the Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders Democratic 2016 presidential campaigns alleged in a report published Friday that they were harassed while campaigning for their respective candidates and that the campaigns failed to address the claims properly — the latest sexual misconduct revelations to rock the Democratic Party.

Lilian Adams, a Clinton campaign worker, and Zoey Jordan Salsbury, who worked for the Sanders primary campaign, both told HuffPost that they were sexually harassed by fellow campaign workers and that the campaigns were “ill-equipped” to cope....

So, did they admit fault, as you claimed in the other thread? You said you only posted these links, when they'd admitted fault. I don't think anyone has, except Louis CK.

Do try to focus.

What I said is that I post these articles...generally without comment...unless the accused party has admitted their guilt. Got it now?

There is plenty of outrage, you're just not paying attention. Have you seen Twitter? On this board, I'm saving my outrage for the people you vehemently defend.

I was getting ****** that people were suddenly using a woman's background against her, and saying that all men grope, as an excuse for Franken, who I really like. The one thing that gets me, is that she's a regular on Hannity, and this IS a time when Franken is dangerous for Republicans. I'm all for the ethics investigation, but this one is dodgy. If you're going to sit and defend guys like Moore (and trump), I'm going to defend Franken. Since we're still waiting for your outrage against the two men I mentioned, instead of the "oh, he's so dreamy" posts we only ever get from you guys.

Lying will get you nowhere. This is what I said.

"Huh?

I'm not accusing these Hollywood and Media types...like leftists are accusing Roy Moore. I'm merely linking to stories of sexual misconduct and...mostly refraining from comment on the accusations. Unlike leftists who have already convicted Moore with no proof."

Russell Simmons, Brett Ratner Hit with Multiple Allegations of Sexual Misconduct
Daniel Nussbaum
19 Nov 2017

Rap mogul Russell Simmons has become the latest prominent Hollywood figure to be accused of sexual assault, after a woman came forward to detail an incident alleged to have occurred at Simmons’s New York City apartment in 1991 in which film director Brett Ratner was also allegedly involved.
Keri Claussen Khalighi told the Los Angeles Times she was a 17-year-old model when Simmons and Ratner invited her to dinner at New York City restaurant Mr. Chow. After dinner, the pair reportedly invited Khalighi back to Simmons’s apartment to show her a music video they had been working on.

The visit to Simmons’s apartment quickly turned sexual, Khalighi alleged.....

Beginning to see a pattern... Simmons was once a friend of Tromp's who turned critical during the campaign last year, first in a friendly manner. I don't know about all the Hollywood outtings but I know some of them have also been critical of the Man Who Must Be Praised.. especially Franken. Projection?
http://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-campaign-coordinator-apos-family-222545006.html

This ^ guy didn't follow Tromp's advice to Cosby either..Deny, Deny, Deny...

I am not saying that these things didnt occur or were right. But they can and often are used opportunistically. There ARE two (or more) sides to this whole scenario

And jwhop.. sorry to say but when someone copies and pastes your comments calling them a liar makes you look like a worm..

And when you accuse people of politicizing all this but the major coverage is from Breitbarf Breitbarf Breitbarf... the political rag of the WH..

As to Randall's suspicions.. I 've seen people putting forward the idea of Franken 2020 JUST before this incident trotted out.. and i still think he's not even touching her in that photo. BUT his response was responsible.. honour the accuser, and please investigate.. unlike Tromp and Moore who prefer the Stonewall response.

This is tricky. As I said, thr pic looks like he is not touching her but joking about it (shes in a flak vest as well folks).. but this piece which raises some legit questions (she apparently just signed a big book deal with Sinclair broadcasting - you've heard of them? Conservative pro Tromp news rapidly buying up stations around the nation) overshoots by suggesting that because she is apparently sexually aggressive herself her claims of indecent behaviour from Franken are suspect..

Doesn't wash. I don't care if shes a prostitute, she has the right to say no.

Its all about consent, how that consent is gained, and as this piece points out this is true for men too. The soldier shes kissing looks blindsided.. but at least he's grown.

Stop your lying.

I said I posted articles about those accused of sexual misconduct. I didn't say I only posted articles about those who admitted sexual misconduct.

I said I generally didn't comment about those accused of misconduct...unless they admitted they were guilty.

Randall are you incapable of discussing anything but winning and losing? Im not talking about the elections but about the political motives possibly involved in many of these cases... an idea you seem able to contemplate but only on one side of the fence... in fact you were first to sugggest it. Do you really think everything your "side" does should be allowed and the other side crushed? What about checks and balances? What about being honest? Both sides need a housecleaning

BREAKING: NYT Suspends Famed Reporter Glenn Thrush Over Allegations Of Sexual Harassment
Ben Shapiro
November 20, 2017

On Monday, Vox broke an enormous story: multiple allegations of sexual harassment against star New York Times reporter Glenn Thrush. Thrush has become so well-known for his questions, as well as his beat-reporter hat, that Saturday Night Live regularly features his character in sketches:

Just weeks ago, Thrush posted a Facebook note blasting political journalist Mark Halperin over allegations of sexual misconduct against young female journalists. He stated, “Young people who come into a newsroom deserve to be taught our trade, given our support and enlisted in our calling — not betrayed by little men who believe they are bigger than the mission.”

But apparently, Thrush has a habit of going drinking with young female journalists, then attempting to kiss them — and then later telling members of the newsroom that they came onto him. In one instance, a 20-something young reporter was so upset by such an alleged incident that she told her friend, who texted with Thrush:.....

Woman says Franken inappropriately touched her in 2010
MJ Lee, CNN National Politics Reporter
Mon November 20, 2017

(CNN) — A woman says Sen. Al Franken inappropriately touched her in 2010, telling CNN that he grabbed her buttocks while taking a photo at the Minnesota State Fair.

It is the first allegation of improper touching by Franken, who is a Democrat, while he was in office. It comes just days after Leeann Tweeden, a local radio news anchor in California, said that Franken forcibly kissed and groped her in 2006, when Franken was a comedian.

Franken has since issued an apology to Tweeden and faces a potential investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee.

Lindsay Menz, a 33-year-old woman who now lives in Frisco, Texas, reached out to CNN on Thursday hours after Tweeden made her story public. Menz said she wanted to share an "uncomfortable" interaction that left her feeling "gross."...........

Do tell Randall.. where have you accused or even admitted that a GOP, or supporter of, was guilty in any of these cases? Weren't you the one who branded Gianforte's victim a thug?
http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum26/HTML/003768.html

When are you going to admit that your hero also blames the victims as a matter of strategy for the sake of winning right or wrong?
