Linda—For many women, experiencing a stillbirth can be one of the most devastating experiences of their lives.
But for our client, Teodora del Carmen Vásquez, the trauma of suffering a stillbirth on the bathroom floor at her workplace was just the beginning. After being accused of intentionally ending her pregnancy, she has spent the last 10 years imprisoned in El Salvador for aggravated homicide.
We reached out last month to share Teodora’s story—and you sprung into action, signing our petition to free Teodora. But if we’re going to help Teodora both inside and outside of the courtroom, we need more supporters to urge the government in El Salvador to do the right thing.
Judges are reviewing Teodora’s case on Friday. Will you share her story with your friends and family on Facebook and Twitter, and ask them to join you in signing our petition to free Teodora before Friday’s hearing?

As you know, this is not only cruel and inhumane, but it also discourages pregnant women who are experiencing complications to seek help. El Salvador is both violating women’s most basic human rights and making it harder for pregnant women to get the care they need.
You have been a leader in this fight since the beginning. I hope we can count on you to spread the word once again today, and help us win this fight for justice.
Thank you for everything,
